Re: If dominance was guaranteed, but...
The Merc fans are just being selfish, though. It's not like Mercedes has a title drought of any sort... :? I like seeing records being broken. Some might say that is what F1 is all about. McLaren braking records with 15/16 wins in 1988 was boring as hell to watch, but it was history being made. If ...

Re: If dominance was guaranteed, but...
I liked 2009 as Brawn were a one-off team who had an amazing season. I accept that the last few years of Mercedes winning is bad for some but as a Hamilton fan i think it's been great Agreed... 1. Mercedes 2. Everyone else. Seemingly Brawn-like random works (although Brawn caught everyone with thei...

Re: Who will end their career with the most wins?
He'll win at least half of the next 63 races, probably a more imo. Mercedes are growing the gap again and there just isn't the scope for anyone to better them. Engine? No chance. Chassis? Not by enough to cancel out the engine advantage. Driver? Nope, you might get a similar one at best but no chan...

Just too strong all round so the next 3 seasons if the regs stay the same is almost a certainty for me he'll get over 10 wins a year. Yup...

Whether good or ill, nothing is to be gained by speaking an opinion about a former equipment (this case engine) supplier. You probably will not hear the team offer such comments.

Re: Superstition in motorsport
Michael Schumacher had several superstitions, among them a request to drive in odd-numbered cars... He won all his titles with odd numbers — five as #1 and once each with #3 and #5. Upon his return to F1 in 2010, he got FIA to aprove his request to swap numbers with teammate Rosberg, winding up with...

Re: Superstition in motorsport
Well, I always get in my car from the same side, and I bet everyone else does, too (whether right or left).
I recall that Ayrton Senna had a worn-out pair of "lucky gloves" that he wore in every race. I seem to recall he had several other superstitions, but can't remember them atm.

Who will manage the Hyper-Softs the best?
Hyper grippy tires, but the trade-off is limited lifespan (even less than with the Ultras). At several tracks, the Pole Position fight will force several teams to roll the dice with them. But they will dictate a pit stop not long after the race starts (7-9 laps?). The choice might not make much sens...

Re: What's missing off the cars?
In the non-commercial days when there were (general) colors for each country, there were many Italian cars in red, British cars in British Racing Green, French cars in blue, etc. This made distinguishing multiple teams from the same country difficult, so in many cases the teams listed the team name ...

This was essentially done in America when the teams split from the Tony George monopoly at Indy, creating the CART consortium, separate from Indycar. It might serve better in F1, but American Indycar racing has not been the same since that split, now a shadow of its former self.

While not suggesting it's bad or good, Ecclestone ran F1 as a monopoly. You wanna play, give Bernie his due or take a hike. Liberty may own it now, but it's still a monopoly. Ferrari's price for agreeing to be under the heal of a monopoly is currently $100M a year. They can choose to leave in 2021 a...
