Re: 2019 Austrian Grand Prix Race Thread

Great drive from Verstappen! Lapped his teammate. Would be a shame if the win gets taken away after the fact - F1 getting like football with these dumb VAR decisions.

Does anyone have video of a car going off at turn 3 and cutting across the grass at Montreal even if it's a practice session. It would be interesting to see what that looks like compared to Vettel.

Crucially Seb was much faster through sector 3 so some of those lock ups from Hamilton are down to him trying to get close.

Lewis’s race pace was great - really pushed Seb all the way. He has a firm grip of the title with only 7 races gone.

I doubt Vettel will retire. I'm sure Kimi will be in his ear convincing him to continue.

Hamilton won't risk equalling Michael's 7 titles by jumping to Ferrari.

Re: The Official Lewis Hamilton thread

It’s probably been mentioned in this thread, but does anyone else get fed up with Hamilton’s constant whining on the radio? I got to the point where I muted the tv every time I saw his radio comms were about to come up. I’m convinced by the amount of times he bangs on, that he does it as a ploy to ...

F1 new owners are dumb.

There are plenty of terrible tracks they could get rid off starting off with Abu Dhabi, Spain, Baku, Russia, and Mexico.

I subscribed to the service this year hoping they ironed out the kinks after one year. Generally pretty good. The on-screen graphics are useful. When watching a replay fast forward on your phone is difficult with my butter fingers, also - it would be cool if they added a +30 sec, - 30 sec like netfl...

The reality is that in appearances Ferrari look best. What especially strikes me are two particular laps: Leclerc 17.2 on C2 and Vettel 16.7 on C3. By comparison, Hamilton managed a 16.6 on the C4. Ferrari are very quick. Mercedes are probably behind but not by too much. Ferrari's look rapid, but i...

The leadership and maturity Lewis is showing tells me that he has a long career ahead of him in F1 outside of driving. I think he can be an awesome driver-coach a la Nikki Lauda. I'm sure they'll want him involved for years to come.

What a race. So entertaining. Verstappen had it in the bag, but his old habits of not giving enough room, not being sensible in wheel to wheel combat cost him. When will he learn? Not sure . A bit harsh to compare possibly Hamiltons best season to maybe Vettels worst. I think if Vettel had met expectation and his own standard then the gap would be very small at the moment. What you are dealing with is two child prodigy’s competing head-to-head. Arguably two of the best drivers in Formula One history. I think it’s extremely close between them.
