Re: 2018 Belgian Grand Prix Race Thread
The same rookie who only tied Alonso due to having full team support and also had his daddy go to the stewards and get Alonso penalized for retaliating in Hungary. You know, when Hamilton violated team orders. No need to go into details, it's irrelevant anyway and it's been discussed to death. He w...

Done and dusted. After lap 1 it always was going to be tbh, no matter who was ahead , if anything I'm surprised the undercut was so strong, without Verstappen in the way that could have been close. Another safety car is the only way we maybe see a lead change now. Nope. The Ferrari is substantially...

Have Ferrari won the development race over the summer? Looks like the Scuderia have finally done a rapid. Vettel in total control... Maybe but it may also be too soon to tell. Merc are usually better on harder compounds and they aren't very good in dirty air so Hamilton may just be playing it a lit...

Hamilton in a different league in these conditions. Ocon was in a league above in the first sector in that case ;) Even Bottas was only around a couple of tenths behind him the last rain affected qualifying session. I do just think The Mercedes suits these conditions much better than Ferrari, so Ha...

Re: 2018 Hungarian Grand Prix Race Thread
Vettel was clearly completely past Bottas. Otherwise the front right side of Bottas' wing would have been clipped. It's pretty obvious what happened... Vettel got by Bottas near the apex and cut over as soon as he could. Bottas couldn't quite make the apex due to his tires, locked up, slid and brok...

Re: 2018 Hungarian Grand Prix Race Thread
It is a bit of a toss up in that normally, a driver in Bottas's position; knowing he's much slower and that the other guy is ahead, will back off and allow that other guy to take the corner. Bottas really stuck in there but Vettel should never have cut all the way across the track. He wasn't clear ...

You can't back out if you are already braking. You're already braking as hard as possible whilst keeping the wheels rotating. It was clear long before braking that Vettel had the move done though. He was ahead and Bottas was squeezed right up to the inside, IMO Bottas should have backed out as Davi...

Regarding Bottas vs Vettel, I watched it again and there was nowhere for Bottas to go. He even almost went on the grass. Vettel does this repeatedly though, he displays a lack of spatial awareness quite often. I agree with the steward's verdict and it was a small error of judgement, but I can't ass...

Ferrari should put one car (probably Vettel) on the harder compound but they need to get one car at least ahead of Bottas to have a chance at winning. Maybe Hamilton will have another donkey start like in Great Britain. That'll spice things up.

For a top driver going for a world championship Vettel simply makes too many mistakes. How many good results has he lost from errors over the last 2.5 years? It feels like a lot. How it works. You can reopen the DRS after turn 1 if you can flat through turn 1. If you lift through turn 1 you can not reopen the DRS. No such rules. You can keep braking and keep re-opening the DRS in the DRS zone if you so wish, or turn it off, lift off, turn it on again. It's up to you how muc...
