I am loving watching this years car on the circuit, through the swimming pool, up through Casino, in fact all around the circuit. Mesmeric.
All the drivers are heroes.
For me, the only thing missing is the sound.

So, so sad, a lovely bloke & a great rider. My sincerest condolences to his family, friends & fiancé. My brother in law is devastated as he is from Kentucky & a huge fan. . Devastated for the Kentucky Kid. I sincerely hope he comes out of it in one piece but I’m afraid it sounds ominous.
Like Schuey, he goes years travelling at insane speeds on the race track only to fall foul of something innocuous.

I believe that John Surtees leaving Lotus at the end of the 1960 season when Chapman had offered him the No 1 driver position was a bad decision. Although he went on to have a successful career especially with Ferrari & then became a constructor in his own right I believe he would have won multiple ...

I was a fan back in the 50s & it was what it was, we didn’t know anything different as we had never experienced anything else. My dad & Granddad used to tell me how much safer it was as they actually wore crash helmets & had hydraulic brakes as compared to linen caps & cable brakes. Many drivers die...

May be the wrong thread but I couldn't think of another one. A piece of useless trivia. 4 of the first big motor sport events of the year were won by a Sebastian with one spelling or another. Indy Car Bourdais Formula E. Buemi Monte Carlo Rally. Ogier. Formula 1. Vettel. It might have been 5 if Loeb...

Re: The greatest hustle you've seen in F1?
There is only one answer in a thread like this: Ayrton Senna, 1993 Donington Park. Even Senna didn't rate that win very highly, and everyone seems to overlook that. As great as Senna was, he had one special thing this race that others didn't, that created the "magic" in the wet. He had Traction Con...

I suppose honourable mention must go to John Watson
He won the US GP at Detroit from 17th on the grid in 1982 & won the following year at Long Beach from 22nd on the grid.
I imagine that must have taken quite a bit of hustle.

A most unheralded drive in my eyes was Michael in Malaysia in 2001. He was leading & there was a sudden deluge on, I think, lap 3. He flew off into the gravel trap & his team mate Rubens & half the field got by him. He then had to queue behind Rubens in the pits for near 2 minutes when they both sto...

Shifty race 'fixing' is not new. Back in 1954 Fangio/Maserati 250F should have been disqualified for having more than the stipulated crew numbers attend his car during a pitstop. Ferrari protested and slowed their faster cars when running 1-2, let Fangio pass and cross the line first, but the organ...
