Are we sure 2012 car was 5s slower? It's not 5s slower. An earlier poster mentioned this as they were directly comparing FP2 times without allowing for differences in conditions, etc. If we get a dry qualy today you should be able to get a better idea of the exact differential, I believe conditions...

Playing devil's advocate, is it really working so well when one considers Red Bull's budget is huge, they spend 20% more than McLaren and Ferrari, have 4 cars on the track yet didn't produce the fastest car last year and didn't secure the titles until the last race. Good points. I am a little dubio...

How do you get an unfair car advantage in Formula 1?
It's all about building the fastest car and then using it to win. If your car's the fastest exactly how is that unfair, it's the point of the game?

I thought this was a very interesting statement: “The Stewards also have a list of penalties they can refer to dating back to 2003,” Whiting added. “It’s categorised by offence and penalty, so the Stewards can quickly see who’s done what, where, and what penalties were handed out. That way they can,...

Gosh there is a lot of sillyness in this thread. There are no different series within the WEC. It is one FIA sanctioned World Championship. I didn't see Gascoyne admit he was wrong anywhere in this article, he just changed his tune from previous years. F1 drivers are the fastest drivers because they drive F1 cars. You or I wouldn't be able to take an F1 car through one corner. Comparison of times in other vehicles is irrelevant. It is pretty difficult to get it off the line in the 1st place. The engine has to be running at a certain rpm, then you...

I'd say the answer to that question was yes. As for Vettel, I've never heard him admit that he was at fault at Istanbul 2010, the most obvious time ive ever seen him be at fault. So no, id say he rarely changes his mind. That's the worst example you could use to prove your point. That was a definin...
