Re: Alesi vs Berger 1993-1997 Revisited

For Melbourne '97 was Alesi not in front simply because he hadn't pitted when everyone else had? I don't remember the exact details of the race, only him running second on track to Frentzen when he ran out of fuel. Alesi had led Berger every lap up until that point and ran out of fuel before his fi...

He's crashing and burning his career both on and off the track. I hate cancel culture. I'd support the right of any artist, comedian, musician etc. to express themselves and cause offence but this was just stupid from Vips. I hope they don't drop him completely and that he accepts his mistake and l...

Re: Silly Season 2023

I think if anyone it was probably between Lawson and Hauger, if YTs seat at AT is indeed up for grabs. Vips is quick, always right at the front pace wise but he’s binned it into the gravel/wall three times this season and made a mistake in the pits in Saudi, which cost him big points. No room for t...

Juri Vips, suspended following a racist tirade yesterday. Facepalming is not enough for this. He went down the Tictum way
He used a racial slur during a twitch stream. It wasn’t a tirade.

Aaaaaaaagggghhhhhhhhhhhhh Juri. You have to say that's probably game over for next years AT seat. If he's not having terrible luck he's making small mistakes which lead to a DNF. This weekend was both, so was Barcelona. He's probably on average the fastest guy on the grid but it just wont go right f...

Re: School shooting in Connecticut. Many dead and wounded.

For those not from the UK, our mass killings tend to be single figures, knife orientated and years between. That's still nothing to brag about but as a comparison we had a terrorist attack near London Bridge which resulted in the deaths of two innocent people and was subdued by a chef smacking him w...

As a grandparent of 3.9 children under 5 the grief and anger that the parents of the victims must feel can only be imagined. The perpetrator of this heinous crime apparently killed his grandmother just minutes before entering the school. No doubt, more information regarding him, his background and ...

Even F2 is too high spec to be exciting at Monaco. Realistically you need a series like FE which suits lower speed street circuits to make it watchable.

Re: Has Lewis Hamilton taken his last victory?

The third fastest team has won races in many seasons, in fact I’d say it’s more of a rarity that they don’t. In the modern era (2000-present), these are the seasons where the third best did not win a race (going by WCC standings). 2000 2006 2007 2014 2015 2016 2020 2021 In the seasons colored blue,...

If Hamilton wins in Spain I am going to ask the OP to start a thread "Has Hakkinen won his last race?" Right after I take out a bet on his sabbatical ending. But if Hamilton wins in Spain and it turns out to be his last win, that will be even spookier. How much to start a ‘will Kobayashi ever...

You’re missing the point on the missiles, I’ll try once more then I’m done; it was incredibly unlikely that one would ever land on the track and injure somebody BUT there was a chance and everyone was right to be concerned about it. The same applies here. All safety concerns should be addressed with...

Sets an interesting precedent if any driver does get away with it, so to speak. People could follow it up with things like, "I don’t feel like I should have to slow for yellow flags, that’s not who I am," or, "I believe God will protect the marshals."

I thought he was looking a bit hirsute and hippie this year! Maybe soon he'll give up F1 to go and glue himself to the M25! Nice to see a driver (along with Hamilton) with the brains and awareness to consider the real world outside F1 , but that does prove that he's no longer F1-obsessed enough to ...

I see it's getting rubbished but it actually provided a much better race then I was expecting, certainly better than last time out at Imola, but Imola is an old traditional circuit so that has to be excused for some reason. Not by me, I think Imola is also a substandard circuit, as do quite a few p...
