Drivers can go on strike... Workers usually do when their safety is really at stake.

The one I'm most interested in is Prost v Senna 1989, but unfortunately the public doesn't have access to the information I really want to know: to what extent was Senna materially advantaged by McLaren/Honda, and to what extent was it all in Prost's head? I'm personally a believer the Senna was ad...

Re: Ricciardo vs Verstappen 2016-2018 Revisited
I guess there’s a question of how different would 2021 been has Ricciardo still been at Red Bull. Would it have helped or hindered Verstappen? I think Ricciardo would have almost certainly beat Verstappen in qualifying and the race 3-5 times which would probably been just enough for Hamilton to win...

Re: F1 versus FIA ???
Much of the criticism seems to centre on Ben Sulayem, the new FIA president. Maybe he needs to listen more to the teams. However I'm also reminded of the FISA/FoCA wars of 1980/81. When the teams (FoCA) led by one B.Ecclestone tried to take over F1 from the FIA's predecessor. Then the teams were sp...

I'm stil convinced, until proven wrong, that the cheap reality TV show that F1 has turned into is what Liberty Media begs for. May I suggest that what Liberty doesn't like is not the FIA "management" of the rules and races, that meets their expectations, but the too obvious and amateurish way it's d...

They should get rid of these cars instead... Exediron... Wings appeared on F1 cars in 1968, and I'm sure even the ones not liking the Monaco circuit can remember decent Monaco F1 races since then. That's missing the huge points that those wings were a million miles away from what we have now and al...

Re: School shooting in Connecticut. Many dead and wounded.
The morning after the shooting, I walked into my classroom of 28 children, all aged 9, 10 and 11. The thought of 19 of them being shot dead by an intruder was simply horrifying. During registration, whilst they were all sitting quietly reading books or working on other things, I imagined it happeni...

This opens a discussion on determinism and fate, I suppose. What was the likelihood of Leclerc's Ferrari failing to finish the race? Cars nowadays are too big for Monaco, but they are too big everywhere else too (Spa included). Never say never... Apart from Vettel, every other driver in the list has a chance of winning at least one race before leaving F1 (which doesn't mean they will). I voted Vettel and Bottas, but even Bottas, who is not that old, has enough years left to benefit from any future change in the balance of ...

As long as they don't reduce drastically the size of the cars, the complexity and size of the wings and don't simplify the aero rules (it can be efficient and simple), there won't be no improvement. Besides, I don't think that improving anything but the cash flow through a reality TV style show matt...

Soulless and uninspiring track. Let's hope it's a one-off. Let's also give it a chance maybe? Given we could have Portimao, Hockenheim, etc on the calendar instead: no. Are the numbers next to those of who will win races in the future, how many races they will win from now (eg. Ocon, 1 + 3 = 4 overall) or how many they will end up with (so Ocon wins two more)? Of the current crop of UK F1 drivers I tend to think Norris has more chances than the other 2, as I see McLaren ending being better than Mercedes. But I wouldn't bet on any of them before 2024.
