Re: 2021 Monaco Grand Prix Race Thread

hamilton has a bit of an attitude problem at times. He looks like he's given up now and nearly 4 seconds behind gasly. Those saying bottas was lacking pace behind a faster red bull earlier on, hamilton isn't exactly looking any better.

I don't think anybody should ever say again that Mercedes are a good pit crew compared to other teams. The amount of times they break under pressure, or have dodgy equipment is just silly. Bottas also had a really long stop in the first race. I think i remember coulthard saying "the wheels have com...

Re: 2021 Monaco Grand Prix Race Thread

bottas will have to give it everything. He has nobody directly infront of him, the clean side of the grid and given he is starting in the 3rd grid slot, but only has 1 drier ahead, he in a sense has more of an opportunity to get by.

Re: 2021 Monaco Grand Prix Race Thread

Is Hamilton's race better served by a very aggressive undercut of Gasly and Norris or staying out in clear air and overcutting them? I think the former as I doubt Hamilton's race pace will be great given his terrible set up. As TGH, Leclerc and Verstappen have binned it here before and they’re both...

Re: 2021 Monaco Grand Prix Race Thread

Just to think I think a more realistic number of points hamilton will have got in Emilia Romagna had he not been very lucky will have been 2 - 6 rather than 18. So with this race ahead of us and Hamilton likely to finish some way behind Verstappen, I think we probably can say it is verstappen who's ...

Re: 2021 Monaco Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thread

Bottas will have to hope that the drivers ahead of him repeat their history. Between them they have at least 7 collisions with the wall at this track. Leclerc wasn't at fault for his first when he had a break problem, but him and verstappen have certainly have made a great deal of mistakes here.

Giovinazzi. Yea i think he is quietly proving to be a solid driver this year. While the car is better this year, there are plenty of drivers behind him that should have qualified ahead, but he did quite a bit better than we should expect from this team. Bottom of q3 is still very good. I think ther...

Re: Mercedes vs Red Bull - 2021

Judging from the sort of laps Bottas and Verstappen put in, and the even faster laps they had to abort, Ferrari, Mercedes and RBR were very close. BOT and VER were on pace to be close to Leclerc's time and it would have been touch and go for pole. Is it never possible for bottas to do what many say...

In qualifying this year overall, I don't think Red bull or Mercedes have had a clear advantage on the whole. But what I have to say doesn't look good is Perez in qualifying. To me, it looked like Leclerc turned in earlier than latifi did. And the fact he managed so many other flawless laps makes me question it. Mercedes need to be thinking about succession planning, Bottas - whilst a solid and on his day fast driver - is not a team leader, just not at that level.
