Re: Let's talk the chief engineer salary
A few years back there was a shot of Newey, Seb and someone else talking and Brundle in commentary said "there is the highest paid man in F1" then backed it up with "I am not talking about Sebastian Vettel" By coincidence I was re-watching the Indian Grand Prix of 2013 today and came across this co...

Re: Teammate battles that didn't turn out as you expected?
Alonso vs Kimi in 2014. I always thought Alonso would beat him but they way he destroyed Kimi surprised. I believe Kimi didn't beat him in a race where Alonso didn't suffer serious problems. Ricciardo vs Vettel in 2014. Expected Vettel to demolish him, especially when it initially appeared that RB a...

Fernando Alonso reckons the 2016 Honda engine will be impossible for others to copy if its "unique" power unit ideas pay off. Does anybody know what these are? Let's just hope it's not a repeat of 2015. I don't know if the 2015 Honda PU was impossible to copy but it certainly was undesirable to cop...

Renault have been incredibly poor with the V6, no two ways about it. I get why Red Bull are so tiddled with them. And for people saying that Red Bull are responsible for the engine as well - ha! Sure, they can lend a hand and help but ultimately it's Renault that builds it. If Red Bull builds a poor...

It's interesting to see that Lewis wants differing strategies but i'd bet my bottom dollar that if the shoe was on the other foot and it was Nico in his position that he'd cry foul that the strategy favoured the car in 2nd place. You have a short memory. There have been several occasions where Rosb...

Well as I stayed up to watch my girl, Ronda Rousy get a beating last night I'm hoping Hamilton can whoop some a$$ today. F1 in the UK is absurdly expensive, I have to say. I moved to Bulgaria for a job (for the next couple of years) and I'm paying 19 BGN for 90 mbps internet + ~200 channels (including F1, Premier League, Ligue 1, Italian Serie A, La Liga and a bunch of less prominent leagues like the Russian, Portugue...

I can't believe the stewards would even look at this as some kind of infringement! The car is effectively disabled and is being 'managed' back to the pits. I suppose one could argue he gained a few tenths (seconds even) cutting corners, but that is far outweighed by the fact that he gained no TRACK...

I really see no comparison between the two accidents. In Russia did a mega dive bomb back from Suzuka and took Bottas out. Today he turned in on him, Bottas had nowhere go (his right front and rear was even crossing the white line) and that was that. Kimi should have taken a wider line into that cor...

I think most of the field would have picked up at least 8 wins in this car. The other 8 races (so far), who knows, Ferrari have been strong enough to take 3 wins. If a driver had Nico's unreliability then we are talking about them needing just ONE spin out/ crash and Vettel is WDC. By the way, Nico...

I think in qualy teams like Toro Rosso, Red Bull and possibly McLaren will have a decent chance for a good spot on the grid because of the technical part of the circuit but come Sunday, they'll be eaten alive by the likes of Williams and Force India (and possibly Lotus).

There's not a driver on the grid who wouldn't win the title in that car, assuming they could beat their teammate - So doesn't that by default exclude half the grid? Well, no. You exclude only one guy - the worst on the grid. The second worst can still win the WDC if the worst driver is his teammate.

I don't have stats but before Alonso's engine gave up he was able to keep Perez behind him on the straights. I think Perez didn't have DRS at the time (as it was just after the VSC and before the VSC Alonso managed to quickly pull 1s+ gap) but they were on tyres of similar ages, I believe.
