Re: Official Tyre Thread

I can't see how you can defend that this change isn't justified. It will penalise some teams and benefit others, which isn't ideal. But IMO you can't have situations in F1 where, at some tracks, 22 drivers trundle around at their own pace "waving each other by" in fear of destroying their tires. I h...

We aim for 2-3 pit stops. Today was too many, we got it wrong, too aggressive. We will make changes, probably from Silverstone.

Re: Art Of Saving Tyres......

I have often wondered if driving over the marbles increases or decreases tyre use? The marbles are of the same compound as the tyres, as thats where they came from, and are between the tyre and the track. Rubber "bit" to rubber tyre is going to have negligible effect while the "bit" is being scoure...

Re: Merc and others got there way tyres changed for barcelon

The tires are just laughable right now. I dont like seeing drivers going for delta times for a whole race or drivers simply giving up most of the fights, since you loose top much from fighting. The onboard shots from China revealed quite a lot. Watching Hamiltons front left during the race through t...

Re: Get rid of tyre blankets in F1

Doesnt belong in F1 at all. With these tires it would a big safety concern. The cars would be so much slower than cars going at full speed. There were some speculation in 2012 about this as a costcutting measure and was ill-recieved... rightly so.

Re: A rounded review about the tyre situation (good and bad)

From a driving point of view, i think they've taken the idea way too far. Hamilton had a nice quote: "it's like you have a hundred dollars and you have to spend it wisely over a period of time". It just seems they can hardly push at all. Very fun to watch, but it's all looking rather silly atm. I'm ...

Saying Webber is equal to Vettel in the team, is like saying Massa is equal to Alonso. In their contract they might, but in reality no. Both teams have their fair share of episodes to support that.

Alonso drove well in 2012 - very consistent overall. But he is a sore loser and it is the sour grapes that I tend to recall from near the end of 2006, 2007, 2010 and now 2012. So is most of the other F1 drivers. I take it you support Vettel and he's certainly no saint in that respect. There's a fai...

Amongst competing hypotheses, the one that makes the fewest assumptions should be selected(and is probably the one closest to the truth). Should be easy to see which one when speaking of Webbers KERS issues.
