It seems reasonable to me that simply following the racing line round a corner may well result in crowding a car beyond the edge of the track but importantly it is not done deliberately, but as a side-...

it doesn't matter what size the engine is - what configuration, what revs, what fuel flow, etc, etc - there would still be limits (as in specs/regs) and thus there would be limits to the final 'function/output' of the PU's. After a year or three (depending on whether new technology or old), they wou...

No, I'm still convinced that Mercedes development of their car through Summer Break was bad. Simply Ferrari and Red Bull made huge steps forward. This phenomenon was not visible in Spa and Monza due to their high speed nature of the track. Remember, Ferrari used the undeveloped earlier versions of ...

I can understand RBR wanting to be sure they are getting 'full' works engines if possible - but to quit just because of that fact would be a little poor of them in my opinion. Re: What happened to Allmighty Mercs?

I think I can work out the problem. I'm guessing it was an ERS deployment issue and how it interacts with the tyres. The Mercedes engine is aggressive and high torque. Since the Pirelli "window" was only 2 degree c in Singapore, it was the ERS deployment that was pushing the tyres out of the window...

It is quite amusing to see some of the wild theories out there for Mercs sudden demise. It tends to be the case that small adjustments make noticeable differences, but if those diff...

IMHO the cost issue is a red herring.
