Re: Is Alonso to blame for Ferrari's poor cars?
There's only one team which had built a championship worthy car from 2010-13. If you take RedBull out of the equation then the Ferrari's haven't been bad at all. McLaren may have built potentially faster cars, but they always seemed to get stuck on setup. Lotus, especially 2012&13, had what (with th...

Re: FEEDBACK THREAD
You going to lock the thread about MH17 then? It's not yet been decided if the thread is to be permanently locked. But the prosecution are saying it was deliberate, and the defence are saying it was a mistake. It is a sensitive issue, and people have speculated about it. Oscar Pistorious was charge...

Re: FEEDBACK THREAD
With Oscar Pistorius there was a trial going on, with facts being presented by prosecution and defence. It also involved a weapon. There is a big difference between someone shooting someone, then claiming it was a mistake and someone hitting someone with a car and then others claiming it was delibe...

Re: Williams vs. Red Bull at Spa
Well Red Bull put up a heck of a fight in Canada when the Williams should have had the edge very clearly. It depends on how the Williams drivers deliver, Massa needs to raise his game and Bottas is on a good run now. If the Williams is harder on it's tyres it could make life harder for them. Notice...

What's your point? He's saying Force India are doing better than McLaren on a smaller budget? Where's the funny?
I've just checked the wdc standings, and I'm ignorantly guessing that McLaren have a bigger budget, so I don't see what's wrong with Perez words

Re: Driver's stock gone up or down?
. I would say that in general ALL drivers' "stock" has gone down. Since Button's win of the WDC (maybe even since Schumacher's dominance) it has been obvious that it is the car that wins the championship. Yes, a particularly good driver can take your car up two or three places, and that MAY make a ...

I try not to watch the news. I've lived long enough to literally see the integrity slowly crawl out of the BBC, to the point there's barely any left. I know that a lot of people will consider any questioning of Hülkenbergs quality as a top Formula 1 driver almost unthinkable, but reading another article praising Hülkenberg as "one of the stars of the season" (http://www.f1zone.net/news/mid-season-review-part-two/42537/), I couldn't help thinking...

Re: Is Alonso to blame for Ferrari's poor cars?
Hilarious thread. If Alonso is to blame for something, its for out-driving the car and placing it higher than it should belong, therefore he makes the Ferrari team think that their car is not as bad, and so the they don't work as hard as they should. Nobody can outdrive a car, thats a myth, the car...

When KERS was introduced, Red Bull elected to develop their own system instead of Renault, which ended up leaving Renault behind in development for these 2014 powertrain rules. They ended up with an inferior KERS in terms of power but it was a small, neatly packaged KERS that allowed for an aerodyn...

I can see why the race may be more subjective but I struggle to see how a driver who got pole did not then get awarded the qualifying points. What more does he have to do? It should be based on what actually transpired, not what might have been. Rosberg got the job done. Lewis didn't. Otherwise exc...

This will only make Spa and Monza slightly less painful I suppose. Was their problem even peak power? I'm sure they've got other problems like power delivery and driveability. And in turn that reflects well on Vergne and Kvyat; Vergne was there or thereabouts vs Ricciardo and Kvyat is arguably more impressive than Vergne! I'd say Vergne, Button and Hulk are all at a disadvantage compared to their smaller teammates this year. Next year when they increase the minimum weigh...

Barcelona 2011. iirc, Hamilton won the previous race in China which showed the first signs of weakness in the RB armour. Seb and Lewis then just went at it for 40 laps. It is amazing how many strategic flaws there are with hindsight. ^ aye, OP merely saying Davie's claim that Lewis' recovery drive was close to the greatest of all time, is a bit silly. Which is quite fair tbh.
