Re: The Official Lewis Hamilton thread
The majority of people in and around F1 respect Sir Jackie: I think Hamilton could do a lot worse than becoming like him. As far as I can tell, the only problem Hamilton fans have with him is that he criticized Lewis once or twice, which to me seems a bit petty. He is an easy man to respect, but di...

Re: I am calling it now Hamilton will win WDC 2019
No I believe they are going to keep on not running them until they win the WCC. I read one theory a while ago that Ferrari want to protest as they would quite like to use this solution themselves but want to test the legality waters with Mercedes before comitting. If this were true (big IF) then ma...

Yeah, you are absolutely right, I retract that statement, wrong wording. They did it to prevent protests. I find it so weird though and the phrasing they used in that article is a bit silly in my view: "and considers the primary function"... Really? Should Ferrari then say that the mirror's primary...

Well, that makes sense really, the straight line speed is directly linked to the speed you get out of the corners, isn't it? Better exit = better straight speed. Not in the case of what we've seen with Ferrari this year. They have basically displayed an "afterburner" effect where their car just abs...

I agree. It starts to look a lot like 2017. Ferrari and especially Vettel are in the process of throwing away yet another title. This time last year the points gap was "only" 34 when it is now 50, even when Ferrari have had a relatively faster and more reliable car this year than they had last year...

If Vettel had a car advantage maybe, but since it's the other way around and Merc has proved that Bottas will be used I find it a zero chance for a Ferrari/Vettel chance, this is signed and sealed I guess you weren't around in 2007. The Vettel error that lost him P2. He had a big lock up into turn 12, leaving a long black mark on the track and completely missing the apex and lost 0.5 allowing Hamilton to be very close through 13 and into the DRS zone. Another big own goal by Vettel when under pressure. He would have taken -3 f...

Interesting comment on C4 saying that through the season the Ferrari has had small amounts of smoke puffing out of the back, vaping I think they called it, and that for the last two races this has no longer been the case. So after the last two races I make it Ferrari probably just about having the edge over the season so far. A very slight edge. Sounds about right. Question now is whether or not the step Merc have made is a decisive one for the remaining races. Still think RBR will be very much in the mix for Mexico.
