Re: New Ownership Wants More Races and more Driver Conflict
This would be awesome. I know history has been that F1 is mostly a european market/sport, but then it expanded to a couple races in the Americas, then Asia, and now the middle east. Lets be honest, the way to grow the sport is to expand the viewership. With an american company, they probably see the...

Re: Brawn/new ownership want more tight/wheel to wheel racin
The solution is simple but unpopular: reversed grids. That way engineers are almost forced to design cars that can overtake. ...and that's simply not F1. You or I don't get to decide what is or is not F1. And what does that even mean? And should that be protected anyway? Is DRS F1? Is racing at nig...

Re: Brawn/new ownership want more tight/wheel to wheel racin
I would like to see a change in any DRS/push to pass technology that basically gives each driver an allotment for the race, which they can then use at any time. This removes the sitting duck scenario that we so often see. You can maybe give each driver a dozen for the race. It might be a cool idea ...

Re: Brawn/new ownership want more tight/wheel to wheel racin
It seems to be two sides of a coin - out and out performance or close racing. I'm in the "I just want the fastest cars" club. Allowing ground effect and active suspension, coupled with mandated simple front wings and smooth upper surfaces on the cars, with massive tyres would provide the performanc...

but how can this be done? We all want better, closer racing. This is no secret, and one of the reasons they went to larger tires and wings this year, but it appears (so far) that this may not actually happen with this formula. Why is it so hard for F1 people to figure out how to make the cars closer...

Re: When will everyone realize McLaren's wearing no clothes?
The problem with just “switching to mercedes” is that McLaren probably believes that there is NO way that McLaren will ever get the equal works engine that the factory team gets. I tend to agree, there is no way Merc would allow that, and I am sure there are a lot of games that are played to assure ...

It may be the camera angle, engine noise or set up, but the 2017 cars look so much easier to drive. Although I doubt Kimi was driving on the limit in that lap.... You think that is a big difference? Go take a look at the Video when Hamilton visits McLaren and they compare his Monaco lap to Senna an...

I sure wish Honda could find the power to compete in F1 this year. After watching the Indycar race yesterday, they have obviously found some power for that series.

Kind of dumb. I race karts and me and my teammate have the exact same year chassis', motors, etc.... Yep. Seems like after Honda discontinued the S2000 road car they haven't made an interesting product to this day. Today they are just followers and build cars that other companies already make. What has happened to them? This current stint in F1 is really embarrassing. This is a brand I used to lov...

I don't know how Honda can have so much money, such a racing heritage AND be so prideful in their work and have the results they had last week in practice. Wouldn't these engines be bench tested for hundreds of hours simulating different conditions, extracting as much HP and reliability as possible?...

If you go to an under 12 karting meet there are plenty of girls. It seems to be getting them through the teen years that's difficult. Ya, kind of like American soccer. Clutchless gearboxes don't take control away from the driver. Please tell me your kidding. Go drive a GT3 RS vs a 911R and get back to me, now multiply this due to a much higher performing car. Also, his call to other drivers, "If you stand the heat, don’t come" makes him look very self-contained, as well as the constant stress that he only needs "equal rights" . He had them in the last year and got beaten. End of story. Whilst the reason why Hamilton got beaten IMO, has more to do with h...

5 second pit penalty, that is announced immediately, so other drivers can strategize accordingly. perhaps Nico should have been given a 1-2 second penalty, but then again, he might have avoided a huge pile up, so it may be looked at differently?

I think a lot of this was provoked based on 1. Hamiltons first lap, cutting the track, he gained a LOT of time and space and NOTHING was done. This set the precedent for the day, and add that to 2. Drivers, not just race drivers, need some sort of warning of when the limit is being reached rather than a it being "digital". Even if the cars are identical, drivers are not. All of these things are extremely easy to d...
