Very nice, as long as the tax man doesn't repossess it before the ceremony and they have to give the winner a dinner plate or something

Re: Old Fashioned liveries on an 2013 F1 cars body
It's interesting, but: ...we need to move on from this nonsense of wishing for old liveries to return. What we need to to focus on getting teams to design great, modern liveries that will become cherished in twenty years like all these ones have been. Don't live in the past, create the future. :thum...

This is curious. Especially since yesterday David Croft said Huelkenberg to Ferrari, Alonso to McLaren. Chilton to Force India and Magnussen to Marussia. I wonder who is closer to the mark? It's 'Hülkenberg' by the way. You can't win this war :-P As much as it would be great if everyone knew the al...

From a career point of view, he might have been better off letting Alonso through when they told him to and then complaining about it afterwards when Alonso finished ahead of him. As opposed to ignoring team orders, getting overtaken fair and square and then have Alonso finish ahead of him. I guess ...

I would say definitely. He's been really impressive for quite a while now. Also, it's refreshing and rare to see a driver have a proper old fashioned career trajectory. He was given a decent amount of time in one team work on going from inconsistently quick and crash happy to fulfilling his potentia...

I got the impression it was related to him wanting backmarkers (ie. Perez) running on fresh tires (who might be running at a pace not far off his own) to still let him through. It would be odd to tell them to get Webber out of the way when Webber wasn't actually anywhere near being in his way at the...

I don't understand the GUT votes, surely he can't be the star of the race when his teammate did better? He was just better than what he usually is. Hülkenberg started 7th, Gutierrez started 14th. If it's a level playing field, over the course of a full race distance, a few pitstops and on a similar strategy, I really struggle to see Webber beating Vettel even if he gets through the first corner in the lead. For all the issues with favouritism and reliability, I just think all things being eq...

I suppose you take it on the very first lap??
Taking advantage of the field being tightly packed, so they'll holding each other up fighting for position and he'll lose less time than taking it once they have spread out a bit.
It is a very odd decision.

Why is this all of a sudden such a big problem? Would they not just have an overall minimum weight of driver and car? I think relative to their respective cars capabilities, Alonso has got on top of the tire situation just as well a Vettel this season and has usually been just as impressive in my opinion. I think OP has a point. I suspect the head fire marshal was looking at Webber not getting out of the car immediately and no marshals with extinguishers coming to his aid. Seeing this he might have thought getting the fire car to the Webber without delay was the lesser to two evils even if it meant s...

Another really good qualifying for Grosjean, helped of course with Webber's penalty. He's come onto a really good bit of form, outqualifying Kimi in 4 out of the last 5 races, I think.
