Re: Racing driver to be exhumed in paternity test
I think the fact they have waited so long points towards the comment I made regarding "stigma" and I think exactly the same as Fiki. I imagine they had a lot of emotional issues, family issues, and then legal issues to overcome before getting to this stage. In terms of Fangio's estate, the BBC artic...

It is hard to look at this objectively, when you start talking about exhuming a body ... ... but I can kinda see where these two chaps are coming from - especially when money appears to not be the motivating factor. I can understand the desire to set the record straight regarding your own parentage ...

Re: Is anyone else getting a bit frustrated with Rosberg?
I saw a video clip this morning of Nico answering questions about this race for "his fans" whilst on what looked like a plane. He said that he ended up on the hard tyres because the pit crew had that ready and didnt have time to change.

Re: Table of 2014 FOM payouts to teams
I know folks have said that teams like Ferrari would be unlikely to agree to a system that rewards them less than they currently receive - I am not so sure. If the future of F1 is in doubt, and re-jigging things could save the sport, I would think Ferrari would prefer a large share of something inst...

To understand if it were any worse, I think you also have to understand quite how drastically it would change - because I dont think you can assume we will find ourselves with the same teams, drivers, backers etc. If we could, then I understand where you are coming from - it probably wouldnt be any ...

Re: We've All Been Duped and Taken as Fools
As Martin Brundle said, it's all a big fix. The powers that be have realised there is no interesting aspect to this season so Nico has been asked to play the pantomime bad guy to Lewis' Prince Charming. When the drivers were on the podium together there was no issue and they sprayed the bubbly and ...

Re: 2015 Chinese Grand Prix Race Thread
What Lewis did made complete sense to me. What if Vettel could have extended his stint on the faster tyre? Lewis had to manage the gap making certain he could counter any risk of Vettels tyres lasting longer. Nico's inability to challenge a Lewis Hamilton who is holding a bit back is the real issue.

Re: Looks like Alonso messed up leaving Ferrari
Ultimately, this is all that Alonso wanted - to be given a car capable of winning races. But he received such a car every year at Ferrari except for 2014. Ferrari is capable of making race-winning cars. He knew that, but that simply didn't do it anymore for him. Indeed, but I do wonder whether Ferr...

Re: Looks like Alonso messed up leaving Ferrari
But I also disagree with that idea that winning the title is the only thing that matters to Alonso. Just compare the happiness of Vettel while celebrating this GP win with his team, with that one of Alonso's when having to stand before the media and give his "we are making progress" PR talk. Never ...

Honestly, I can understand why Mercedes, Force India, and even Williams to some extent, retained their current drivers. Mansell for sure. A tyre blow-out in the last race of the season robbed him of a first title in '86, where he would have beaten Piquet in the same team, when Piquet was the recognised champ/no1 driver. What happened was out of his hands, he was doing everything needed to win that championship in th...

It has to be his "Mental Fortitude to Overcome Setbacks and Win 2014 WDC". He had to dominate Rosberg for quite an extended period just to get on an even keel with him, heading into the final leg of the championship.

I actually suspect both drivers will be treated equally. I just don't see Jenson agreeing to remain at Mclaren unless it was on an equal footing with his teammate. Why put yourself through that?
