Re: What's more frustrating?
I would say, in reference to the specific examples, Alonso's position must be more frustrating. He has been with Ferrari for a while now and even his biggest detractors would say he could have won more WDCs if he had a more competitive package of late. In respect of Mercedes, they could remain domin...

A cost effective way to introduce a ban like this would be to allow the teams to implement the ban next season, rather than force those teams to rectify the issue now. That is what I do not get in all of this.

I am not in favour of double points and will be happy if they scrap it. But I am suspicious of where all this reconsideration is comming from. Double points have not been a raised issue for a while now. It has been more about engines, reliablity, fuel economy, non-competitive, and noise. Is it becu...

What did everyone expect, seeing that all anyone did was to bash Stefano for Ferrari's lack of titles! As some have stated - he does not design the cars, nor build the engines, nor drives the cars. He has collated a very good group of top designers and engineers, and has ensured their wind-tunnel w...

Re: Briatore to replace Domenicali at Ferrari
Briatore would be a good fit for Ferrari. As he is corrupt, ruthless and only concerned with cash flow . And these are the attributes required for being head of Ferrari (aka FIA). These are qualities for all managers in F1. Being ruthless is something that F1 is well known for (piranha club). And w...

Thank God it finally happened what should have happened at the end of 2010, if not right after 2008 season finale. Both Alonso and Kimi paid at least 1 title under his leadership. It's just shameful. I am not convinced having someone else in the TP position those years would have resulted in a bett...

I would go for Lewis/Nico - don't care which way around. I think the last race showed us quite how well they know each other, on track - something I reckon must be pretty vital in this sort of racing.

I thought it was an "OK" start to the season.
Did anyone else think we had less "close racing" than usual? I mean, when you saw two cars meet on the track with similar-ish pace, they didn't seem to fight so hard? Perhaps fuel saving during those stints more so than usual?

I never was keen on having different tyre manufacturers. Whilst I think you need to promote innovation to keep F1 at the pinnacle of motorsport, tyres in my mind should be exempt. I much prefer a level playing field when it comes to tyres, so that all the teams have to deal with the same tyre. The i...

This isn't the first time in the last decade Williams have looked awesome in pre-season, though. If Redbull turn up to the first race with a competitive car that gets to the chequered flag, it won't be because they were sand-bagging. It will be down to a heap load of work from the team and its partners.

I don't think he has any second doubts, actually. There is no point dwelling on what could have been in this sport. He seems a lot happier in Mercedes than he did with Mclaren, and ultimately that is all he needs to know.

The judge(s) in this case had a different threshold to reach than a jury would in criminal proceedings. Accordingly, I am not convinced this judgement is "ammunition" - although there is no denying it shines a spotlight on Bernie again.

I think this could be a welcome change, so long as we don't suddenly see an influx of penalties. For example, I could see this as being a useful way to punish people that are found to have gained a place by going off track when they are no longer able to simply let the complainant go back around them.

I am amazed the team principals aren't pushing for this rule to be put on the back-burners for 2014. Perhaps the majority of team principals are being pessimistic and working on the assumption 2014 will be another Red Bull white-wash - thus this may be the only way to "keep it competitive".
