Re: F1 Gossip/Rumour/Inside news Thread

Clearly the current drivers cannot extract a great deal of performance from the W15 and they were also struggling with the W14 and the W13. In my view the drivers are unable to drive around some of the unwieldy characteristics of the current generation of Mercedes cars. That leads to a downwards sp...

Re: Is Hamilton ruining Max’s legacy?

You’re doing a very good job of deliberately missing the point. You listed a bunch of races which Ferrari “should” have won in 2019 and included Baku which is based on very little evidence apart from Q2 times. Then when I make the same argument for 2022, you turn around and claim that I said Ferrar...

Re: Is Hamilton ruining Max’s legacy?

Remind me what happened in Baku 2022. From my memory, Leclerc took pole, lost the lead early, and retired with a car failure, but because safety car timing would have benefited his strategy some people believe he had an outside chance of winning. I think it's a bold statement that Ferrari should (o...

Re: Is Hamilton ruining Max’s legacy?

Funny how Pokerman thinks Ferrari should have won Baku 2019, but when I say the same about Baku 2022, he misinterprets it as Ferrari was quicker than Red Bull in that race. Re: 2024 Miami Grand Prix Race Thread

I just watched it again, Verstappen actually was losing more time than I thought to Norris. On lap 24 he was 9.5 seconds behind. On SC deployment on lap 28, the gap was 11.5 and it gradually grew every sector. He gained 2.0 seconds in 4 laps. Leclerc also gained 1.2 seconds in those 4 laps on Verst...

Again, the phrase was "as fast as RB" not "faster than RB". I think it's been shown that Ferrari was close enough to RB/Max in 11 or 12 of the first 13 races (exceptions being Imola and perhaps Miami) for that comment to be considered valid. Re: Is Hamilton ruining Max’s legacy?

Even as a Verstappen fan, I was very encouraged by the pace of McLaren and Ferrari at Miami. The upgraded McLaren in the hands of Norris looked like the fastest car, while Ferrari was at most 1-2 tenths slower. Miami is a circuit that tests every quality of a car. Top speed, mechanical grip, brakin...

True, Max had just gotten to the front and looked to be on his way to a victory when he got a piece of carbon stuck in his floor. There was a late SC that bunched up the field, who knows what would have happened. If you want to say Ferrari wasn't as fast as RB at Silverstone (a race that they start...

Really not a fan of the fact that despite winning the Miami GP Norris didn't leave the weekend as the driver who scored the most points.

It feels wrong.
It is wrong the sprint dilutes the main event.
