Re: 2024 Australian Grand Prix Race Thread
While not quite on the level of haas when Grosjean and magnussen didn't have their wheels attatched, but the pit crew, or some design issue with the wheel nuts at Sauber seriously needs looking at. Is that the 4th or 5th time they have messed up?

Re: 2024 Australian Grand Prix Race Thread
Sainz is doing incredibly well. However, I do think part of the reason why Sainz has looked better or close to Leclerc quite a bit over the past seasons is because Leclerc just isn't as good as people think he is. I don't think he's at the level of a top driver.

since last season, Bottas hardly seems to be able to go 2 or 3 races since last season started without bad luck. This year, he's already had bad luck every race.

just hopeless from Sauber. Bottas made a solid start gaining places and has now lost it all. At least he has free air. These slow stops are happening every race with this team.

How unusual is this sort of issue? I can't remember the last time i saw a retirement with melted break disks due to a fire.
I think Verstappen's complaints and mistake were all related to this.

sainz really impressive today. Alonso half a second off stroll certainly not a common sight! both slower than their Q2 times, so I don't think they were trying that hard. Danny Ric really is done. His deleted lap was still slower than Yuki's. why would you not try that hard in Q3? Alonso made a mis...

this new sky studio looks nice, but it is pretty stupid when you have a driver replay with the skypa controls on the left filling the screen with Chandhok's head, shoulders and hands waving about in and out of the screen. Surely this can't be the way they will keep doing things? It just doesn't look...

I think the problem for Sargeant is that he looks little improved from last year with rumour of Vowles being interested in him being replaced by Antonelli. This is why I find it unfair. He has looked better. Even after his technical issue in bahrain last race, he was just as quick as albon after he...

Re: How many times (if any) do you think race ban should have occured since Spa 2012?
It's worth remembering that Grosjean didn't simply get a ban for his move in Spa in isolation. It was his fourth first lap crash of the season and the second time he'd crashed into cars alongside him on the way down to turn 1. I can't think of any single crash which deserved a race ban since. Gasly...

How many times (if any) do you think race ban should have occured since Spa 2012?
I've been thinking about this for several years now but never got round to creating a thread. Are there any occasions where you think a driver should have received a race ban since Grosjean got one? It could be cause by anything - such as a build up of too many penalty points. This one especially sh...

Most were pretty straight forward for me. Verstappen, Leclerc (Bearman had a great debut, but in no way out performed Charles), Russell, Piastri, Alonso, Albon, Yuki, and Hulk. I didn't vote for Alpine (Gasly out on the first lap) or Strake (didn't watch close enough to have an opinion). Yeah agree...

Just read that Perez wasn't let out of the pits too soon by the team, he actually ignored the red light that his team continued to show as alonso was passing. When you see what a talent like Bearman can do after a single practice session it makes you realise how bad Stroll is in his 7th season. A very, very impressive debut.
