Re: Team Mate Battles - Hungarian GP

Yeah Ricciardo was the better driver but Kvyat gets the points because he finished in front, yet Rosberg is looked as the better driver and gets the points even though he finished behind, strange? :? No, if you actually read it the logic is consistent. The slower driver who made less errors gets th...

Re: Alonso: top 3 drivers are Hamilton, Hülkenberg & ricciar

I can't read all of that because some of it is rubbish, the poor starts were down to the car not Hamilton as witnessed by the poor starts from Rosberg as well. This year there was the strategy mistake at Monaco a race which he was dominating whilst at Silverstone he just had a dodgy few laps on a w...

Re: Driver(s) of the Day - 2015 Hungarian Grand Prix

Who voted for Kvyat? He had such an average race and was gifted 2nd. Hulk overtook him early and he could get past till hulks front wing went. Bottas got a puncture. Ham crashed and penalty Ric was crashed into 3 times. Rosberg punctured himself Kimi lost half his engine. I didn't see him make one o...

Re: Ricco is a late braking GOD!

So, Maldonado, side by side, pushes Perez out and gets penalty. Perez looses not much. Dan makes a puncture to Rosberg from behind, and gets none. Rosberg goes from 2 to 8th. Sorry Dreb, I often agree with you but in my eyes Ricciardo was on the edge of the track and Rosberg came over. I'd be inter...

Re: Ricco is a late braking GOD!

How was it Rosberg's corner when Ric arrived first? If Ric was able to stop himself and take the apex, it was his line to take. Rosberg only was able to come back at him as Ric had run wide with too much speed. You answered it yourself. He ran wide and Rosberg took the racing line. Ric was only abl...

Re: Ricco is a late braking GOD!

He is not god, but at times he can be good at late breaking. Plus, he could do a bit better than ruining Rosbergs race, no matter how bad was Rosberg today. You must be joking!! At no point was that Ricco's fault. The wooden eyed Nico tried to fight back but we all know his skills(or lack there of)...

Re: Ricco is a late braking GOD!

Yep, I saw it as Rosbergs fault. He let Ricciardo go past to the outside of the track. Rosbergs then had the inside line. He either tried to run Ricciardo off the track or get him to back off his accelerator to avoid the contact. He should have given him more room. The big question has to be, why w...

Re: Hamilton to Mercedes; Biggest Gamble Ever?

Another one was Vettel's move from Toro Rosso to Red Bull. At the time Toro Rosso with Ferrari engines were much faster than Red Bull with Renault. I remember thinking at the end of 2008 that Vettel would be better off staying at Toro Rosso. However the FIA let Renault update their engine to catch u...

Re: Alonso: top 3 drivers are Hamilton, Hülkenberg & ricciar

That is quite the shopping list of excuses there! You should see the shopping list of excuses forming in the Ricciardo thread this season. The fact of the matter is, the 'shopping list of excuses' also represents valid reasons if they are true - which is the case for both. I think what initia...

Re: Dan Ric-Phenom or One Hit Wonder?

I don't see how. In a lap they can go over the fuel flow rate in one section and lift and coast in another. The point is that they should never exceed a specific limit, so fuel left over is irrelevant[/quote] Sorry if I am not explaining it well. If a car had a tank of fuel that was 20kg, and you c...

Re: Dan Ric-Phenom or One Hit Wonder?

But what is left is what you can use to accurately collaborate your fuel flow data. It wouldn't matter if you drove at 10 or 300 kmph, or under safety car etc if the numbers didn't add up for Red Bull, I doubt very much they would have gone to court. No, I don't think it can. A safety car in partic...

Re: Dan Ric-Phenom or One Hit Wonder?

Interesting read, however it wasn't Red Bull vs the FIA sensor. It was Red Bull repeatedly disobeying a FIA order during the race to not go over the fuel flow, when they would have been thinking during the race, we are not going over. Based on up to 5 of the sensors failing at one race, I am would ...

Re: Dan Ric-Phenom or One Hit Wonder?

I thought that Red Bull had measured the fuel flow and found that the FIA's sensor was not accurate. It had failed and been swapped a few times already that weekend alone. They went off their internal systems which they believed to be far more accurate. What they said was that had they used the dod...

Re: Dan Ric-Phenom or One Hit Wonder?

Eg 2nd in Australia - disqualified The DSQ came because the car was running an illegal fuel flow. Had it been running legally, then it wouldn't have come in second. Still in the points, but a good bit down the order. How are you quantifying that? For all we know the fuel flow sensor added very mini...

Re: What The Fans Want: Refuelling

I remember when refueling was banned. It made it so predictable. 2 drivers fighting, one pits first and comes out on fresh rubber, the other guy goes 1 lap longer losing time on old tyres, and when we pits he comes out behind the other guy. Known as the undercut. Contrast this to with refueling, 2 g...

Re: Dan Ric-Phenom or One Hit Wonder?

Kvyat has been very good recently. However it is hard to compare the 2 drivers when the Renault engines are so flaky. Is that much different from last year though? Both Kvyat and Vettel last year had tons of engine issues (and so did the other Renault guys, too) which could have comprimised speed a...

Vergne was no where near ricciardo. If you state this you weren't really paying attention to their battle. Ricciardo during his time with Vergne was clearly better. I would call Vergne a good F1 driver, absolutely. Again, to claim that Ricciardo was anything but slightly better than JEV is demonstr...

Re: Hamilton's pit stop - luck or a forced hand?

Forced hand that turned out to be lucky.
Of course Lewis would say it was the best decision of his career after it happened.
Just prior to the stop Nico was catching him at 1-2 seconds per lap.
If it didn't rain then and stayed dry Nico would have won the race.

Re: Dan Ric-Phenom or One Hit Wonder?

I think Dan is the man. The car or to be more exact, the power unit is a dog. They are still not on top of the reliability issues. I remember that at Austria Renault were saying after they replaced Dan's engine, that it would be 30 days or so till they worked out if that engine was reliable, then th...
