Re: Ricciardo's future: Another Hamilton, or another Alonso?
I hope he made the right decision, but frankly I have been a little unimpressed with Renault's progress so far. To me they should be the clear 4th best team by now and they are not. They have also made no dent on the gap to Redbull from last year to this year. In fact, they are barely any faster tha...

Re: Ricciardo's future: Another Hamilton, or another Alonso?
Sadly I think this is a poor move. Will be interesting to see if Renault start trying to snap up top tier engineering talent in the next year or two to see if they really are serious like Mercedes were before their 2014 renaissance. As an aside, I don't believe he is fearful of the Verstappen threa...

Re: Ricciardo's future: Another Hamilton, or another Alonso?
Should be an option another Hulk. I think Dan will probably sink into obscurity with this move. I don’t see Renault being front runners soon and Dan doesn’t have Alinso’s stature that he can weather that unscathed. I see it as a very poor move for him. He had every opportunity at Red Bull but chose...

Re: When, and to where, will Ricciardo move? [A: 2019, Renau
Interesting report on the PF1 site: https://www.planetf1.com/news/horner-thought-ricciardo-was-joking-report/ According to Horner, Red Bull were under the impression Ricciardo was re-signing. They had agreed to a 1-year deal and probably a financial improvement. The Renault deal is rumoured to be 2...

Re: When, and to where, will Ricciardo move? [A: 2019, Renau
I think this is The beginning of Ricciardo’s slide into obscurity. Renault will be mid field at best and he won’t have the opportunity to shine that he does now. It looks to me like he’s running from Max, as I can’t see anything that would suggest Renault are a better bet than Red Bull You could be...

Re: when, and to where, will the Ricciardo move take place?
With unreliability in the mix, the relative performances of Verstappen and Ricciardo are in truth hard to read at this point. Max had a run of mistakes where there was probably a wavering of confidence.. but he is past that now. They are both great drivers, and the both their relative strengths. How...

Re: when, and to where, will the Ricciardo move take place?
The fact nothing has come out regarding Raikkonen and Ricciardo's contracts for next year suggests to me there could be more to the Ferrari link than many of us may have believed. Kimi being so bad-tempered at the team order given, also makes me wonder whether he's been told that his contract is no...

Re: Silly Season 2019
Lewis has finally signed a two-year extension, taking him through to the end of 2020. You would assume that this will result in a number of seats being filled on one side of the driver's market, with Bottas being re-signed, Ricciardo staying at Red Bull and Sainz turning his loan move into a perman...

Re: when, and to where, will the Ricciardo move take place?
Renault are still a long way away. He can't afford to waste years of his career away from the top of the grid at this crucial time in his career. And as for Mclaren; no top driver with half a brain would touch them with a barge pole right now. A two year deal with Red Bull is the only sensible opti...

Re: when, and to where, will the Ricciardo move take place?
USA, Ricciardo out qualified him by 2 places anyway. Verstappen was definitely quicker but better involves a lot more. I personally think Max is the better driver because the type of driver he is he just needs refining and he will comfortably beat Ricciardo. But in 2017 its debatable who was better...

Slating a member of your team is not slating your team First of all, for a driver his teammate is his first opponent. Second, Mark was slow so Seb said he was slow. Re: Shower Thought: Constructor points instead of grid penal
So here's some cannon fodder for the thinkers out there. Start up a 3rd championship for engine suppliers with a pretty decent carrot at the end for the winner. Each component failure costs the supplier points in that championship. That way it won't affect the WDC or WCC. Yes obviously there's flaw...

Max seemed already agitated in today's press conference. Seeing his comments, I think Red Bull has to do something since the situation doesn't seem to be fixing itself. Yes. But so are all the other top sportspeople. F1 drivers aren't paid to be athletes - they're paid to be marketing assets. If Mercedes believes Hamilton adds a billion dollars in nebulous 'cool' factor to their brand, he's easily worth less than a tenth of that. And in some ways it's self-serving...

Monaco is not a representative track on the F1 calendar. RBR seems to be good on this type of track. I don't see that they have the strength on the fast, lower downforce types of tracks that make up most of the F1 schedule. OTOH would love to see Daniel become the RBR standard bearer for the rest o...
