Re: Drivers cannot change helmet designs during a season
I think the reason I am happy with the ban on helmet design change is the fact that when drivers changed their design, it often got a lot of media attention which kind of sums up the sad state of affairs F1 is in at the moment. F1 media should be more interested in the racing rather than thousands o...

Re: Drivers cannot change helmet designs during a season
Just to throw this in to the thread, people are complaining about the FIA making this decision as a pointless decision, yet it's already created 3 pages of decussion during a time of year when F1 is generally out of the press.
Yet again F1 gets the media and fans back talking again!

Re: Drivers cannot change helmet designs during a season
The FIA can decide this in the same way that they can decide about teams keeping the same livery. Exceptions will of course be made depending on rules over advertising in certain countries, and I am sure that a helmet could always be changed if a team secured different sponsorship part way though th...

Heading out soon today . Recently had wisdom tooth out which cold wind is not good for! I'm out all year though unless there is a risk of ice or heavy wind, then it's turbo trainer with dvd playing on the laptop in front of me. Passes the time well. Don't enter many Sportives but as well as my local one in May, my mate and I couldn't resist this one. Closed roads will be amazing. Be able to ride in a peleton formation with loads of other riders and take whatever line we want.

Re: FEEDBACK THREAD
OK. It just seems a little odd. I'd prefer to discuss with a defined person (as much as a forum member is defined) whereas I tend to think that Mods have to play devils advocate on forums and putting their points of view across in Mod form could lead members to see a particular mod bias in some way....

Re: Ferrari's F1 concept
When you compare the amount of bodywork that surrounds the drivers and wheels to that of the 1960's, F1 is unrecognisable. That's not a bad thing, things change.

But when you visit their website, the majority of the info that's straight to hand is green issues. Not that this is a surprise, but it's like Ukip and their anti Europe / immigration stand. Yes they have an entire manifesto but what's their real agenda?

I mean in detail. Anyone who bothers to read bag find out about basic ideas, but what about the detail? What specific detail plans do they publicise? When do they really make a point? Only on fundamentally green issues. They're just a pressure group. (Which in itself is not a bad thing)

Running engines on dyno's was either none existent or hopelessly inaccurate back then. Bodywork was also slower to remove. Testing mechanicals without bodywork is not that unusual.

Just upgraded the chainset on my best road bike, not because I really had to, more because I am a bit OCD when it comes to bikes and it now matches the rest of the components. Well, with regard to UKIP in general, I tend to think they're simply the latest version of the Green Party. In other words, they are going through a period of reasonable support but actually have very little interest in anything else a government has to do aside from their one main stand point. The ...

Hi. You can purchase silicone spray to lightly coat your bike. This means dirt sticks less to the bike and what does stick falls off much easier. You just have to ensure you don't coat the rims or discs depending on what you have, otherwise your brakes will be useless..... I hose bikes down but not ...

Why is Alonso year on year so good? Finally, a straight forward question with a simple answer. Alonso is so good year on year because Alonso is the best driver in the field... bar none, as I see it. No idea how good any of the engines are at the moment, but Ferrari were desperate to be able to update their engine so they may have found something during last season that made a big difference on the dyno and they can now use it.
Who knows?

Aside from other regulations, the front aerodynamics would be massively compromised by having to run a drive train, diff etc under the driver and to the front wheels. Any mechanical grip would be irrelevant.
