Re: What do you think of universal benefits for pensioners?

Since when did any government feel constrained to make good on every manifesto pledge? But OK for the sake of fairness, if such a thing is desirable in an unfair world, let all pensioners have these benefits for the asking. Not given automatically but available to those who request them. The pension...

Re: Watching race on the circuit vs Watching it on TV

As the years roll by the income (happily) creeps upwards too. Have now moved from a soggy bit of tarpaulin in General Admission to Grandstand seats. Also moved from UK to Canada! Have to admit I used to take a sh**load of stuff to races: stopwatches, cameras, lenses, radios, binoculars, food and now...

Re: Best European Formula 1 and Motorsport experiences

In Milan one year we went to the Alfa Romeo museum. This gets zero publicity and was almost deserted (this at Italian GP time!) even the guy on the gate seem surprised that they had a museum! Oh, and it's free - all you have to do is find it! Also worth the visit is the Mercedes Museum and the Porsc...

Can give co-ordinates for satellite view Home (with the black roof) 63.742359 - 68.500700 work (opposite post office) 63.748353 - 68.521122 In the summer a fifteen minute walk and not very pretty, in the winter a five ...

There was life on Mars; feline life...unfortunately curiosity killed the cat!

Re: The Joke Thread

One from my youth so an OLD joke but may be worth it. Two girls are walking on the beach and come to a lifeguards' station. Sitting up there is a guy with a body women would drool over: chiselled, buffed, toned whatever, but the guy has a head about the size of a tennis ball. After much giggling and...

Re: Unknown Olympic Hopefuls

Always risking disqualification for dirty tactics Romania's female wrestler Nora Nearoff and in the boxing ring Yusma Kim from Korea could shine.
I'm sure we'll all look forward to seeing Ronnie Knoes in the paralympic 100m dribble and of course "Bubbles" in the underwater polo at the same meeting.
