Re: The Official Fernando Alonso thread
What I'm not that sure of tbh is why Alonso is so determined to do it with Macca. You'd think considering his only goal is a one off race that he'd be better placed to run with a standout team with bags of experience like an Andretti rather than what will be a bit of a newb one off outfit with McLa...

Re: The Official Fernando Alonso thread
Wonder how Honda will feel if Alonso would win the Indy 500 in a car powered by a CHEVROLET !!! Would they feel good that he wasn't using a Honda powered car? ;) Well it seems that bridge between the two is burnt so hard there is no way for any cooperation in the future, they would have to swallow ...

Re: The Official Fernando Alonso thread
I've heard from a well informed journalist that it was purely Honda decision, they just didn't want Alonso to drive a car with their engine. All the story behind with Chevy is a PR stuff.

It's very strange thinking, this way I can say that Rubens Barichello is a better driver than Hamilton because the only time he had a winning car and was on equal treatment he beat Lewis in 2009 :D Alonso and Hamilton is not even debatable for me, only Vettel fanboys can disagree they were better in...

Re: Vettel vs. Leclerc
The fact is that Vettel had the better car and team during that window of time and Hamilton performed better than him in 2012. If we look at the entire 12 seasons that they have been in F1 together, I'd say 2011 and 2013 are the only two years where Vettel performed better than Hamilton as a driver...

Vettel > Hamilton was actually a wildely held view in 2013, at the time it was hard to find someone who thought the opposite . 2014 changed everything. Not true in the slightest. Many people in and around F1 have always rated Hamilton above Vettel. I think almost everyone things Vettel was better 2...

I personally never liked Vettel. But you dont win 4 championships back to back even in dominant car without being world class driver, specially the way he has won 2 close ones by performing in last race when it mattered the most with all the pressure in the world on him to win. From the other hand,...

I have a feeling that car performance has too big impact on those rankings
Honestly I have a feeling that Haas driver lineup is one of the worst if not the worst on entire grid.

Re: Who is the most underrated driver on the 2019 grid?
The most underrated driver of the last 20 years is Jarno Trulli. Along with Hamilton, Trulli is the only driver who has beaten Alonso in qualifying as teammates. Likewise, unlike other journeymen of his era (DC, Rubens, Webber, Fisi) he never got an opportunity to drive a great car. He was a victim...

Ricciardo lead Max when Verstappen pit, but came out 8s behind. Max finished the year two points ahead of Bottas. If he'd finished fourth in Abu Dhabi (and Ricciardo third) he'd have finished one point behind Valtteri. The result was undeniably orchestrated by Red Bull. I am 99% certain Ricciardo w...
