Re: What we still have to look forward to.
Vettel won yesterday, he was always going to, but I thought the race was fascinating in terms of all the other battles going on throughout the field. This year we've been forced to appreciate the fights lower down the order, and I think with the end of the season fast approaching and contracts still...

Re: Vettel Disliked???
Unlike many in this thread, I used to dislike him, but as of this weekend I just can't feel any animosity towards him. Yes, it's boring when one driver wins all the time, but I can't even get mad at Vettel and RBR, they're just too good. I used to think it was the car, and maybe it was in the first ...

Congratulations in order for a man who will go down in history as one of the legends of motorsport, whatever happens in the next few years.
Him and the team both deserve all the applause they will get, and frankly the people being negative just reek of sour grapes.
Well done Seb.

Re: GREAT News. A1 Ring. Red Bull Ring. Spielberg.....
The A1 ring was my favourite track (along with Indianapolis) before both were dropped for political reasons, nice to see it coming back. It may be short but it's nice to see a tree-lined, hilly European race coming on to the calender instead of another deserted Asian aerodrome.

Contracts in the sport are meaningless; we all know that; five years does seem a bit OTT though, we'll see. The overall story may be correct even if the details are just speculation.

Re: Maldonado out of Formula one
Hope he goes. I could see Massa doing well in that seat with Rob Smedley joining him. Good comparison for Bottas and without blown exhausts the Williams should be pretty good next year. Without Maldonado's money Williams lose what is reported to be a third of their entire budget. They will be not m...

So long and thanks for all the fish. There are better drivers without ill-gotten funding sitting on the sidelines, and they're less likely to try and ram their own team mate off the track.

Well let's put it this way, does anyone really think that if run off areas and cars were like this 40 years ago the drivers wouldn't have been as 'reckless'? This sport has always attracted the ruthless, those who would do anything to win at the expense of all others. The drivers will operate (just)...

It's certainly a consideration, but then again because the sport is so much safer that they can get away with this sort of thing; it's not just a perception it's the truth. There will be another driver death in F1, it's inevitable, but because of the improvements in safety over the last two decades ...

I guess F1 hasn't changed all that much in the last few decades.
Even if he wanted to buy the shares on their own merit, without any ulterior motive, it would make things very awkward around the dinner table if he hasn't negotiated a seat for his son-in-law.
Hope it's to replace Pastor personally.

Mclaren, even if the car is second best to the Lotus, the exposure trumps the lot.

Slow in F1 terms is still quicker than almost anything ever produced. Imagine turning up to a track day in that!
Better than just another 911 GT2 or something, for the sort of people that do that sort of thing £55k is a bargain.

The drivers market over the next few years (this season included) is shaping up to be very interesting. Nice idea, but the difference in cost, engineering and behind-the-scenes work in F1 compared to the lower formulae can't be overstated. Also, there's still a spare berth on the F1 grid, if there was a team (or 20!) with the money and resources to make the step up then surely one of them would have t...

Alonso usually does step back a bit, unless Kimi or Webber are up there with him. He tends to just keep his distance after races as far as I can remember. Wouldn't read anything into it personally.
