Yup, it was down to pure driving tack, not strategy with the Merc's. Both were awesome today and Nico's very magnanimous, which is great.w1Y! wrote:Nicos response says it all.

I'll believe it when I see it. I cant see the second team (Colin Kolles) making it though, and I'd be surprised if the US team makes it. If either of them do make it, I'd expect to see Caterham and/or Marussia to finally fold and walk away. That, after all is the only reason they are accepting new t...

Simple solution: raise the minimum weight by 10 kilos, remove a maximum weight limit. Nobody should have any problem then, and nobody will have an advantage.

If Merc continue to dominate those figures will dwindle rather rapidly again. It'd take a couple of seasons. That's how long it took for it to kick in in the MSC and Vettel borefests. Hopefully it wont get that far. I want to see some damn fine racing this year, not swimming pool around with a 30 s...

Money.
Those who are getting a Friday drive are paying for it. Massa's enough of a big deal to be able to dictate terms. Bottas is not. Pretty simple stuff really, it's a great way for the team to get a bit of extra cash, and test out drivers for a possible future drive.

No offence OP, but it's a pointless suggestion. Tyres are only a (pretty small) part of the problem. Given that Bernie and Todt are now stepping in, something will happen as it's threatening the income and rep of the sport. RBR did use the FIA supplied meters! The flow meter was in the car and supplying the values to FIA data logger. Otherwise how did stewards got the real time data during the race and gave warnings to the team? So they are compliant with the following: 5.10.3 Homologated sensors must be fitted which ...

In addition to being the fastest road cars, F1 cars have to be the loudest IMO. Dont worry, Bernie's on it. Ok. got it. I don't read every post but it makes sense to me now. But I still think it is a stupid rule. The biggest 'boost' we'll see will be with Marussia as they are no longer using the slowest engine on the grid, they're using arguably the fastest. Theoretically they should outperform Caterham this year.

It seems like a fairly clear cut case and one that can be solved simply: Red Bull get Renault to make up two engines. Put the supposed faulty sensor on one, the RB one on the other and run them both at the same setting the RB sensor says is 100kg/hr. If the FIA sensor says 100.1+ then the disqualif...

I do think that an independent party looking at the case would do no harm tbh. Double check the FIA sensors, if they are clean it's clear cut. What also gets me here - supposing the FIA sensor was crap. So Red Bull used their own. How does the FIA know that the RB sensor was accurate? For all they know it could have also been faulty, or deliberately manufactured to give an invalid reading. That's why the FIA one exists in the first place.
