Re: The Official Football Thread
They may have brought in some young players, but, in my opinion, they were not sufficient enough to replace the big names of Vidic, Ferdinand, and even Evra has dropped the ball this year. Looking at the squad you picked: De Gae: good year, no major problems. Rafael: injured for a lot of the season ...

They did more than 1 lap in qualifying... This is true they did indeed but when it counted they were slower. You confuse me, my OP just stated that the Red Bulls were quicker at some stages of qualifying than Rosberg and/ or Hamilton. I never said that they were faster than them overall. You mean l...

Re: Best Driver Pairing (after 4 races)
No one else but the Merc drivers. One win for Rosberg, three for Hamilton - bit of a no-brainer really! Yes, they achieved maximum points, but aren't they expected to do so? Put the top 1/4 drivers in a mercedes instead and I'll garauntee they do just as well in terms of points scored. It was expec...

off topic yes but as you asked. Poles racing together Ayrton had 5-0 against Michael that's to 94 as not sure why you only asked to 93 as my point was Michael never took a pole while Ayrton was racing.I think it's incredible because Michael was one of the greatest yet only took a pole once Ayrton w...

Re: Are RB favouring RIC because of personality?
It's not so much a ridiculous question. Although Ricciardo isn't being favoured, it would be favourable for Red Bull to be an attractable team which would build a fan club. But truly, no. Not with Helmut Marko as the Boss, and with Vettel having so much control. No.

Eye sight is very important, especially when driving at 330km/h looking for the second small white square that flashes by before braking into a corner. During wet weather I imagine it might be handy to see where puddles of water stand and the lack of visibility when raining would be helped with good...

Re: Best Driver Pairing (after 4 races)
I remember a lot of people saying before the season started, that it would be Alonso and Kimi. Is that still the case? Probably not If Raikönen can hook up his car and put in decent performances again, I think they could be stronger than Nico and Lewis. Having said that, I think we'll see the best ...

My take on it? Moyes inherited an average squad that were dragged to the previous season's title by a combination of a legend of a manager and the competition conspiring to trip themselves up. Throw in a change at executive level as well, and 2013-14 was always going to start on the back foot. The ...

He just sounds like a lot of people on this forum. The truth is Alonso would drown a puppy just to have had that Red Bull these past four seasons. I find this very interesting, but I'm not sure if it reflects on the true consistency of the drivers. Isn't this more of a NASCAR table rather than consistency table. I think it was because Vettel is losing confidence with every weekend that goes by. He was coming into Australia knowing that his car was unreliable and most likely was slower than the leaders. After being in the best car for at least three years, his racing feels alien. Retiring and seeing his team...

I've worried about this, too, and the fact that fernando might only have 1 or 2 more years of brilliance left in his career could mean that he could walk away with only 2 championships to his name. Alonso is craving for another WDC and, when Sky asked him what would he give for another championship,...

This absolutely can be damaging for his reputation. If a driver is really, really special, someone like an Ayrton Senna, at maximum one or two drivers on the grid should consistently run at their pace. And Vettel has been compared to greats like Michael Schumacher. You can make excuses about drivin...

I wouldn't say Daniel and Vergne are close, no. Vergne was far slower over 1 lap, he never really challenge Daniel much. Due to the mid field lottery in races it was slightly more mixed up. What did Daniel out qualify him last year, 16 to 2 or something? As I said, I was exaggerating there, wasn't ...

There will always be a team that does 'pathetic' in every race. When you have 6/7 teams fighting to get into Q3, there will always be a few that under-achieve. Take looking for a podium in Bahrain: around 6 people were looking to get the remaining podium spot, and, I'm sorry, but 6 does not go into ...
