Re: The Official George Russell Thread

Yeah, messed up, 'fessed up, time to move on. I think the helmet-slap was actually the bigger transgression, especially as Bottas was clearly still a little winded at that point. The real shame is George was having a great race up till then and this has overshadowed that.

Re: Hamilton vs Schumacher and their contemporaries (split from Official Hamilton Thread)

You need to read some of the books I'm afraid. I've heard a lot of anecdotes as well, but books like the "edge of greatness" give a bit more details. For example, stark contrast to the "I love you guys, we are so blessed" routine, Schumacher would know the people in the factory by first name and ro...

Re: The Official Fernando Alonso thread

Good observation on the parallel with Ricciardo but I think it's still a bit early to judge. At least Vettel and Ricciardo have been in contemporary F1 cars. Even with my high expectations of Alonso, I'll give him 4-5 races. And even then if Ocon is matching him, I would be unsure whether it shows O...

Really isn't much in it is there, but what is great is that when they are this close you really start to see the difference the great drivers make and how they handle the pressure. Max definitely handled it better than Lewis at Imola. That's two races of chaos he's won in the last 3 seasons (German...

Where would Trulli fit in amongst today's grid? He seems a bit Bottas like with the quick in qualifying but not as strong on a Sunday. In my opinion, you can find reasons to give Schumacher the nod and such to give Hamilton the nod. It's a close call. Two things, for me, decide it in Hamilton's favour: - he raced stronger teammates, and - Schumacher had more and more severe unfair actions ("lack of sportsmanship"). but I...
