Re: 2015 Bahrain Grand Prix Qualifying Thread

It's common knowledge that Alonso & Vettel prefer to have #1 status and it's a big thing in negotiations for them. Though usually its played out to them having to prove they are worth it and that #1 status only coming in when they have a clear advantage and when the team really needs to back them.

Agree. Start is so important tomorrow. I'm predicting a tangle between Rosberg and one of the Ferraris and Ham to lead to the flag. The way Hamilton has been starting has been the best I've seen in his career. It's like he bottled whatever made the Abu Double start so great and unleashing it at eve...

Re: Nico has accepted 2nd already against Hamilton...

That makes no sense. Why was he trying to save tires? You start the race with Q2 tires, not Q3. You can still save your Q3 tyres to give them more life in the race (presuming they're available to use in the race and worth using). No, these one set options are allowed only for q3 and has to return b...

Kimi out qualified Alonso here last year tho, so we can't presume he would be starting where Vettel is.

Yes, 2009 excluding. It doesn't really make a difference to what I was saying. The 2009 McLaren is still much better car (relative to the rest of the field) to any of the car Maldonado has driven. In Hamilton's hands yes. Very much doubt Maldonado could of done what Hamilton did in that 2009 McLare...

Re: Raikkonen or Rosberg. Who would you sign?

I think we should only look at their comparative pace. The fact that Kimi would have been in a position to overtake Vettel at the end suggests he was ultimately faster than Vettel. It's just that Vettel had track position. The thing is, is Rosberg has been nowhere near Lewis' pace while Raikkonen c...

You also gotta manage the car, if you can, as reliablity is important, so if you can win by not pushing to the max and saving the car in the meantime, that's what you do. It's not always about going all out flat out sometimes. Bringing the car home safe is often the wise option, if your able to.

It does lend a little credence to those who say that Alonso's famed ability to drive around issues means that engineers may often not be aware those issues exist, or how much impact they have on the car's overall performance.
