Re: Is Lauda making the case for his final Curtain Call in F
When Niki Lauda speaks face to face, I don't doubt a single word. He says it how it is. He is just that kind of generation of humankind. Yes, he's just straight, direct and atypically open. These are traits I tend to admire, though obviously they can cause problems in his line of work (and many oth...

Re: The Official Lewis Hamilton thread
Niki Lauda is frivolous. I don't doubt any of what he said and I don't doubt that he's an honest and open man who can say many things rather flippantly and without necessarily intending to come across as malicious or biased. He just intends (probably not even intends, just is) to be a man who says w...

Re: Hamilton vs rosberg. Part 265
You see human's are funny things in that every one is different. Different people handle situations differently while you may be the sort of person that can deal with that sort of disappointment, Lewis isn't, and as long as he isn't physically hurting anyone who cares? Personally I don't mind that ...

Re: Hamilton vs rosberg. Part 265
Rosberg at fault. For me it's just like Canada, some races ago, Nico took the run off that time, Lewis didn't this time. It was 100% avoidable by Lewis, but of course he did not back off, why should he. I still don't understand why Nico took the runoff at the start in Canada. I would have just turn...

Re: The Official Lewis Hamilton thread
The "Hamilton rejected talks after austria" think is disappointing on Lewis part if true Inclined to agree, but also suspect that he's as miffed and cynical about the nature of the race in Austria as many of us have been post-race; after having a little longer to analyse what really happened..........

Re: Has Raikkonen equalled Vettel so far this year?(2016Aust
My inital thought was Nah, Kimi has just been lucky. But as so many have said, you make your own luck, so I have to say there is nothing in it, just as the points say. Can Vettel really be assigned any of the blame for his tyre failure in the Austrian GP? Hasn't Vettel been legitimately more unluck...

Re: Has Raikkonen equalled Vettel so far this year?(2016Aust
I mean more that he was outperformed in qualifying by several others relative to their cars, rather than just on pure times. I dunno, it reads clearly enough to me, which is to say that Vettel having bad luck and not being quite at the top of his game is an equaliser in his battle with Raikkonen (wh...

Re: Has Raikkonen equalled Vettel so far this year?(2016 Mon
OK, bad luck for Vettel at the Austrian Grand Prix of 2016, but Raikkonen showed good pace. His form is pretty good I'd say. Meanwhile, Vettel is not at the very top of his game and was outmatched by several other drivers over the weekend in qualifying.

Re: The Official Kimi Räikkonen thread
Yeah, as per above post, I do not think Ferrari had the speed to fight Mercedes for the win, but Kimi should not have came out behind the Red Bulls in the first place. They do not have the speed nor tyre differential to the RBs as Mercedes do in order for him to overtake them that easily. I find it...

I make a special mention of it because it is he who is the 3x WDC. I've never got such a feeling in the circumstances of Alonso, Schumacher or Vettel.. or even lesser world champions. So, I find it to be quite bizarre.

Re: The Official Lewis Hamilton thread
Basically, today was the day where my intuition almost definitively tells me that Rosberg is the favoured one at Mercedes right now (beyond it being mere callous misuse of talent to ensure the best "team" result). Someone tell me it ain't so.

Re: The Official Lewis Hamilton thread
The misuse of Hamilton's talent in this race was kind of blatant to me. I suppose the only thing I'm really wondering about is what they would have done with the drivers in a reversed position. Would they have abused Rosberg's position to guarantee Hamilton also finishes at least p2 or would Rosberg...

I definitely think they abused Hamilton's position to try and secure a 1-2. Doesn't seem too far-fetched to me. Why get a 1-3/4 when you can get a 1-2 and just depend on Lewis' ability to make it work.

They gave Rosberg everything. ** Oh, and the reason is because they think they can abuse Hamilton's talent to run him sup-optimally and still retain p1 while giving Rosberg every chance of making up for p6 to finish p2. They give to Rosberg under the assumption that Hamilton can eke out th...

From the on-boards i think Nico has a lot to answer for there. He was trying to run Lewis off the track after Lewis had the overlap. Replays of the incident between the Mercs now. Very very aggressive defence from Rosberg.
Brake problem or not, that was boneheaded from Rosberg. If he'd just been a little less stubborn, he'd have much better points from Canada and Austria.
