Re: The Official Mark Webber Thread
Very strange strategy from the team today. When he made his final stop I was completely shocked - his gap to Alonso was over ten seconds, and he was (slowly) catching Seb. He was running in clear air so probably not doing too much to hurt his tyres - his times were showing no sign of falling off, a...

Too many tweets could be a problem....I can just picture it... Tweets.... 1. In front and doing well but Alonso is right behind me 2. How did Alonso get past! 3. Now Button has got past as well, I do not know why this is happening! But the reality is I do not think Lewis has been using twitter durin...

As I said earlier in this thread, Mark has tended to fall away in the latter half of a season. It appears your pet theory but it isn't actually accurate: First half of 2009 average finishing position: 5th Second half of 2009 average finishing position: 5th First half of 2010 average finishing posit...

Re: Blue flag rule revisited
The blue flag rule stops slower cars interfering with faster cars. Without the blue flag rule cars unable to match the pace of the leaders to the extent they drop a lap must not interfere. Without this rule deliberate interference by a car that is not competitive would be possible. But the blue flag...

Re: Webber and Vettel looked rather angry with eachother?
Webber was in the wrong place for Vettels lap, and that damaged Vettels time. Vettel was 'upset'. Understandable really. Webber was not on a flyer...he was getting ready for one. Vettel cools down and realises with the spray would have made it almost impossible for Webber to have seen Vettel. Vettel...

he had no kers for most of the race and those Saubers were possibly the fastest car out there today. I think its understanding why they beat him. Webber used to out qualify the second drivers at Jagaur by 2 seconds sometimes. I'm not saying they were particularly good, but he absolutely thrashed them. Yes, well said. Webber has been competitive with so many drivers. Not until 2011 did anyone EVER demolish him. To appreciate how good Vettel i...

Supposedly Alonso was thrileld Webber won the race. So many events can be interpreted multiple ways. Alonso and Webber spend a lot of time together and Alonso would not be 'thrileld' by a result that was bad for Webber. On the original theme- relative reliability. I would suggest they have been tea...

Another foolish 'Webber is great, Vettel is hopeless' or 'Vettel is great, Webber is hopeless' theme. Guys, get over it! Either they are both great...or both rubbish. It seems strange that all ladies either

I would have though there would be some who have an interest but have not had the opportunity to try competing.

Epic head to head are Hamilton and Alanso, Hamilton and Weber and many more where both racers give each other room and race for corner after corner without crashing into each other. Re: Tires too demagable / delicate?
It's perfectly reasonable for faster tyres to degrade more, since they're made with softer compounds. There always has to be a trade-off here. If there is a problem, it's not the degradation, it's the speed. I had to read this a second time. On first reading I thought you were suggesting that all t...

Re: Peter Windsor and Rob Wilson on the best of the current
A problem with any list like this is that drivers change over their career in their one lap speed, and it has been suggested (with respect Vettel for example) just how well their current car works for them. Vettel vs Webber in 2011 would produce a different ranking than in 2010. But also how about S...

I think you could argue that Vettel staying out and finishing the race was actually the honourable thing to do. Clearly his car wasn't mamed enough to have to retire, but RBR wanted to exploit the gearbox regulations. Vettel didn't agree, so thumbs up from me. Agreed. Team orders are so often again...
