Re: The Boy/Girl is bit special
Yeah Taponen probably spent a year longer in Karting. His results last year were decent for a rookie though he is stepping up massively in FR so far.. He looks to have adjusted to the car better than Ugochukwu and Lindblad, probably his biggest rivals. He's another name been on the radar for a whil...

Re: The Boy/Girl is bit special
I had seen the name before and was aware of the dominant Ginetta campaign, but yes watching F4 UAE was the first I saw him in action. He will be Italian and Euro F4 with Prema this year. Apparently on Red Bulls Radar too.

The Boy/Girl is bit special
Think I've started as similar thread in the past, but here to comment on upcoming talent so we can revisit with our "told you" pants on later. F3/F2 has it's own thread so let's highlight drivers outside of those series. First up I'm going with Freddie Slater 2024: F4 UAE = 1st* 2023: Ginetta Junior...

F4 UAE at Yas Marina this weekend. A 5th place for Pin Race 1 but an incident in race 2 destroyed another good placing. Full results to follow after R3 tomorrow.

The FIA has released the points allocation in a document, although it hasn't been publicised as of yet. F1 Academy is offering points. 1st to 5th. https://i.ibb.co/8P6FCR4/SL-Points-chart.png Fewer than FIA Certified F4 series is to be expected, but equal points to GB3 is a kick in the teeth to the...

..and still no word on whether F1A will qualify for superlicense points now it's in 2nd year. Doesn't look like it, which is maybe why you have drivers competing in the series AND National F4 series which do count. It shouldn't count with it being somewhat of a closed shop, it doesn't prove that an...

Re: Female Racing Drivers
Weug and Pin are the stand outs, Weug might be better than Pin. Possibly as of now she is, with 70+ formula races under her belt, but my feeling is Pin has more potential. Guess we will find out now! They're going to be teammates then. Yes, Prema are fielding Hausmann (Aston Martin), Pin (Mercedes)...

Yeah I think that's pretty much it. None of really know, but assuming the HAAS funding stays the same I don't see a significant change in fortune just by slotting in a new Team Principle UNLESS that Principal then works out where improvements could be made and fires/hires on that basis.

Meanwhile W Series assets up for auction with debtors chasing @ £15m apparently even though last accounts filed Dec '21, show only £4.5m debt. So either some over-claiming of what's owed, the '21 accounts were "creative", or the series incurred £11m debt in '22 before it folded. Whatever it's not a ...

I've made no claim she is, or would ever be F1 level, and I don't know anyone whose opinion I respect that has suggested that. It's interesting to see her in this serious more because we get an idea of her single-seat level, and specifically in relation to a couple of other female drivers. I think i...

It's just so he can continue to cheat... For that reason I knew she would never go to F1 Academy, because there is no way F1 is allowing him to get up to his usual antics in their series... And somewhat disappointingly Carrie Schreiner stay in F1 Academy with Campos as part of the Sauber academy. I just tried it on % of max constructor points available and if my sums are right, McLaren take it for '1988 again with
1988 McLaren (199/240) = 83%
2023 RBR (860/1058) = 81%
1988 McLaren (199/240) = 83%

Re: Best team ever
What is the number after the year? I guess the way to level this off across all seasons is to do it as constructors points as a % of total possible points. But you'd have to cover off different points systems, fastest laps, half-points etc. Or just do it with a single scoring system applied to resul...

There is a problem with F2 that it introduces quite a lot of luck into the equation, of course reverse grids would be a starting point, Vesti qualifying worse than Pourchaire would help him more in the sprint races for instance. Then in the Feature race an ill timed SC then the long time leader fro...
