Re: Red Bull's Checo Conundrum

There is no way Perez is this bad. They have to support to him, though if he fails to finish P2 this year he probably deserve to be out. Not sure Ricciardo deserves the spot either. He has to beat Yuki comfortable first so it will be interesting to see if he can even do that ?

Re: Silly Season 2023

I think the decision was made a while ago but Lawson is doing better than expected. He was pretty good in first half and but probably some 0.3secs slower per lap in second half on hard tyres.

Re: 2023 Japanese Grand Prix Race Thread

It was good race overall. But Perez has had a shocker. Also some strange strategies. Not sure why did they wait so long to bring Sainz and Yuki to the pits compared to their team mate for second stop. Ironically both Sainz and Yuki finished a place behind due to it and the gap for both were 0.8secs ...

Re: 2023 Japanese Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thread

Max fastest on all session. If he is P1 after lap1 he is going to be some way ahead of rest. Piastri is doing amazing job, he was fast in SPA and fast here as well which is a driver track, he has bright future for sure. Suzuka is the best track to see car go fast and Leclerc back to normal speed. He...

Re: Silly Season 2023

IMO RBR should go for Piastri for future. For AT I would go for Yuki and Lawson. If they go Ricciardo that means they rate his experience and knowledge and consider that important factor. They dropped NDV because he was some 0.2secs slower to Yuki. Lawson does not make mistakes but he also seems som...

Russell and Sainz are doing great now, especially Russell, Hmailton is very strong in Monza and here again, he almost got P1. There is no way RBR are getting to top5 here. Even if their car seems faster in race than qualifying. Yuki unlucky both in Monza and here. He would have definitely been in to...

Re: Silly Season 2023

Since Ricciardo is also a factor in the silly season talk of '23, I wonder how much of an eye opener is his latest pic showing the injury he got at the Dutch Grand Prix. Considering the location of the injury, I think he will need a good time to recover enough to not get any pain or further damage....

Re: 2023 Italian Grand Prix Race Thread

I think this was one of Perez better drive. They should have called Perez early instead of Max. I do not think he was ever in doubt not to win. Perez had to earn this P2. Ferrari were surprisingly very competitive in the race as well. IMO this was bad weekend for Leclerc. Piastri was unlucky with te...

Great result for Ferrari. Sainz has looked good all weekend. Also nice to see Piastri finally able to beat Norris and surprisingly Russell also ahead of his teammate. Hamilton is usually very strong in Monza.

Wow Perez simply can't have a clean weekend. But anyways I do not think he can afford another mistake this weekend. A good qualifying and a podium in the race is needed from him. Ferrari is expected to be strong here so he has to do well. Times will be close in qualifying.

It was good race, the mixed condition definitely heped some especially Gasly. Surprisingly there were lots of overtaking and Alonso made some great moves. Lawson P13 was also unexpected. But I think both Mclaren and Mercedes underacheived this race. Yuki too was doing well than the P16 result.

Perez has 40pts lead over Alonso and Hamilton is just behind him. So as long as he does not have some DNF, crashes he will end up as P2 so I cannot imagine they would terminate his contract for 2024. You have to give 1 year at least. The only reason they dropped him is because of his age, which is also unfair. Yeah he is 5yrs more than Yuki who has had 2yrs in F1. By that logic Ricciardo has to be at least 0.3sec faster than Yuki as he has 11yrs more experience to him. Because according to Marko...
