Re: Bahrain winter testing 2014. part 2
Well, there are a few things we know for certain about the first race: - There will be at least one safety car - The marshals will be very busy - They'll need to hire a few extra cranes/tractors to remove cars - If you've got a Renault badge on your car, you're going to have a bad time Bring on Melb...

Re: FOTA disbanded
It'll be reformed eventually under a new name and vision. Remember before FOTA we had something similar that also vanished. Generally FOTA only has a place when the FIA or FOM are acting up, trying to do stupid things that would mess with the sport. At which point the teams gather, threaten to all q...

Re: What will FIA do if we have a split field?
They shouldn't do anything. It would create an amazing in-season development program and force teams to be a heck of a lot more creative. The only thing I suspect will happen, sadly is some sort of "official ok" that allows Renault to 'fix' their engine. You know what Lotus and Red Bull are like, th...

Re: Will this be Caterham's last season?
I fear for them this year. They are on Renault engines as well. And I can easily see this really being last year in F1 with Tony selling the team to someone else before the end of the year. It begs the question - lets assume he decides to call it quits and sells the team. Does he include Caterham C...

Re: Renault admit they are "weeks behind" in engine developm
Red Bull won't get to design a new chassis just because the engine keeps blowing up. Virgin got special dispensation from all teams to do the work they needed to do on the 2010 car. But they weren't a top team, they weren't the reigning 4x double World Champs. Red Bull won't get that special dispen...

Re: Will this be Caterham's last season?
I think it's going to depend highly on what's happening with Marussia. If they are able to outscore Caterham again this year then I see Fernandes bailing. He's not the sort of person that buys into a business and keeps it for life. He flips them. He takes on a business, makes it better, and sells it...

Re: Will FIA 2014 engine rules attract more manufacturers?
Also currently true, but aren't FIA opening up applications for more teams from 2016? If it's anything like last time, I wouldn't expect to see a mass of new teams. - Torro Ross have been up for sale for years, and nobody's bought them - Nobody bought HRT (and they could have, for pennies) - There ...

Why is 'No' not an option?
Right now it makes no financial sense for anyone else to enter after Honda. There wouldn't be enough customers to make the development expense worthwhile.

Thinking that 1 bad car would make Newey resign, or Red Bull push him out is crazy. It's beyond crazy, it's pure stupidity.
That'd be like firing Vettel for having 1 bad season after winning 4 WDC's.

JV was a good driver on his day but he made a complete meal of winning his 1997 title. I mean that Williams was a whole second quicker than the rest of the field at times. No way should it have gone down to the wire. He was erratic in 1996 but given that was his first season people let him off with...
