Re: Refuelling could return in 2017
Nice! FIA doing there normal thing, putting a sticky plaster on a knife wound. The FIA have no power. They just throw in ideas which get rejected by the teams. Ecclestone then undermines them all by giving the tyre contract to Pirelli again which means there is a huge bottleneck slowing the cars do...

Re: BRITON WHO INTRUDED SINGAPORE F1 TRACK JAILED FOR 6 WEEK
I don't see it as harsh at all, it was a completely ludicrous and dangerous thing to do. You only have to watch the footage of the Tom Pryce accident to see what can happen when people are on the track at racing speeds. I can only assume this guy has some form of mental illness to think this was ac...

Re: The Hat throw of frustration or bad sportsmanship!
When I saw it live on TV I chuckled and laughed. I don't think Lewis meant any disrespect throwing the hat at Nico since he gave Vettel's hat afterwards, I thought it was more of a "Hey, get ready to go out" type of deal. Although that was probably the worst time for that since Rosberg had just los...

Re: VW To Buy Red Bull
Why would a VW team be happy to use Ferrari engines for 2 years? That part doesn't make sense to me I do not see how this can happen. Must be a bad rumor. The way I have interpreted it is that VW agree to buy the team but effectively take over in 2018, with a VW engine developed by then. Red Bull a...

Don't really understand the press release from the FIA about the decision. They say the pressures were correct when the tyres were fitted to the car and that the tyre blankets were disconnected from their power source when this pressure was taken. So, when were they low? And how was this measure? Us...

Re: Hamilton's bad luck - a myth?
I would say Lewis is incredibly lucky, as is Vettel, as is Alonso (to a lesser extent), especially as is Kimi. Any driver that ends up at a team capable of winning the WDC is lucky, any driver who has driven a dominant car is very lucky. Exactly this. Hamilton has been very lucky from the start of ...

Don't understand how this really benefits Red Bull. They would just be the Mercedes B team and rely on their main competitor for engines. OK, they get a better engine than they currently have, but they have always said they want to be the 'works' team of an engine supplier. Mercedes would probably l...

I used to watch F1, terrified, adrenalin pumping, scared that I might actually see someone die. I haven't felt like that for over 20 years. F1 is in a silly tangle at the moment. On the one hand we have engines that are supposed to be more economical and more aligned to road cars yet we have tyres that are purposely designed to wear out. This livery (just like the old one) makes the Mclaren look like a car produced by a team at a very low point. Much like the Manor car. If so why is Alonso the one revealing there was a steering failure and not McLaren? Because McLaren works with data, and the data says nothing. The only thing left is what the driver experinced. What was the format of qualifying in 2004 though? I didn't watch it back then but a quick read suggests there were two laps, one to determined what order the cars actually qualified on with low fuel and a second lap to determined the starting order for the race, on race fuel. We are nowhere near the...
