Re: Mercedes grovelling apology disgusting
I'm really taken aback that more hasn't been made of Mercedes allowing the chief strategist to self-flagellate so publicly like that on Lewis's radio. I'm angry at Lewis's sulking triggering it, but it is highly beneath Mercedes to have allowed that grovelling apology. The team should always come f...

Honda made some progress, granted. But other than a few glorious years as the very best two/three decades ago, they have only ever struggled in F1.

Is it me or are comments like this likely to mothball a promising career? Surely if even if Max was wrongly penalized, making a statement like this is just going to hamper his career in the long run? At Toro Rosso at least, F1 altogether probably.
Unless he comes with buckets of Russian cash...does he have sponsor dollars he could take to another team?

I think it is possible they don't even have a year. If Mclaren drop them at the end of the season, Honda may be done. They wont provide free engines to mid-level team and NOBODY is willing to pay for the pleasure. When you look at Honda's track record in F1, it is highly over rated. With the excepti...

The problem with instituting team orders with these two is this: Who really believes they will be followed?
The money Perez brings with him is important, but remember that money was not enough to save Maldonado. At some point the cost benefit analysis breaks down against a chaotic pay driver.

Incidents like this should be dealt with by the Stewards on race day only. To 2nd guess the Stewards is a slap in the face.

The cranky boys got cranky with each other. No surprise here, the faux-brotherhood they were trying to sell earlier this year was not going to survive competitive cars.

That anyone would think this is anything but Honda's fault is beyond me. They are worse than an embarrassment. The rest is splitting hairs about how a driver or the team should be reacting to yet another Honda failure that precludes a car from even starting the race.
