Re: 2014 Chinese Grand Prix Race Thread
I think it is Hamilton's to lose but my concern is that due to problems yesterday all the setup changes he made to the car have not been tested in the dry. The race will be the first time. This car can be set up for full wet and still be fastest by second in dry. Seriously, they can just copy/paste...

Re: 2014 Chinese Grand Prix Race Thread
I think if it stays dry Rosberg will get ahead of Vettel and Ricciardo quite easily with Hamilton building a gap too big for Rosberg to bridge. Is there any chance of rain?
Also, it'll be interesting to see if Alonso has the pace to mix it with the RBs - given how strong Ferrari looked in P1 and P2.

.... but I think Nico is now over-rated 'cos he's close to Lewis. .... But now he's in by far the best car, Lewis reputation has suddenly increased - and the same has happened to Nico. This is what it is. I STRONGLY believe Hulk en berg is better than both of them and also even Kimi/Alo/RoGro too (...

Re: Mercedes to win all races?
The FW-14B had an even bigger advantage on the field and it did not win every race. This track suited Mercedes more than most others due to the straights. At Barcelona the Red Bulls will be much closer. I would agree with you, but the laps after the safety car give me doubts. I dont think anybody c...

I think this is showing that Hulkenberg is not as good a widely thought; Perez looks equal - if not better - here. Or on his good days Perez really is as good as he was showing back in 2012... The question I always ask myself when I see women getting involved in F1 is: If it was a man with the same credentials, would he be given the same opportunities? The answer in this case, is no. How is that equality? We're actually swinging to the opposite side now.

I too think Hulk is too high, I would put him level with Grosjean this season. Other than that I dont see much that I disagree with. Though I dont see why VDG deserves to be higher than Massa. Agreed. I mean, Hulk was only ahead of Di Resta by a couple of points in what could be said to be a near e...

I voted: Chilton, Kobayashi and van der Garde. Although, if I were to vote on who deserves it, I would vote: Di Resta - has shown this year that he has improved since his rookie year and does not deserve to be ousted, particularly when Sutil has just landed the Sauber seat; Kobayashi - slightly behi...

Why is the push to pass so powerful? An extra 90hp is not much in terms of F1 were they have around 700hp but when the cars only have 180 (during the race) it's going to make passing a non-event.

You should know that the writer of the article is extremely pro-Hamilton so according to him, little 'lew-lew' can do nothing wrong. I have noticed Hamilton's fans criticising Bottas for trying to unlap himself but were also criticising Vettel last year when Hamilton was unlapping himself. The hypoc...

Not that I would miss him much but it would be quite silly if he goes and Sutil would stay. I did an essay on the environmental impact of motor-sport (not just F1) for a school project; I had very similar findings to the OP. F1 is a world-wide sport and as long as this fact remains, F1 will not be environmentally friendly. Although in itself it's is not environmentally friendly, the design...

Everyone requested those changes after the numerous tyre blow-outs; they had to be made. Red Bull and Vettel have adapted best to the changes; it's not their fault, neither is it Pirelli's.

Is this not a missed opportunity for Nico? I only see it as a win-win for him. If he does he well, he puts himself right in line for the seat and if doesn't do so well, it will just be said he didn't have enough time to adapt.

I cannot see why anyone would pick Sutil over Di Resta; he's slower (on race pace, qualifying-wise they're on par imo), older and has only 60% of the points Di Resta has. I know Di Resta can be vocal about the team but I would rather somebody vocal who can deliver results than a yes-man who doesn't....
