Re: If Senna didnt die, would he have won the WDC in 1994?

When you compare Hills first half of the season to the second you have to allow for one FACT.

Williams introduced some drastic changes to the car to make it more drivable without the active suspension. Not all of Hills increase of pace was down to Lead driver status or increased talent.

Re: Truth, where is Eurytus?

I think the forum is weakened by losing him. Clearly shot himself in the foot when he turned his (substantial) ire on the mods but the reason I stopped bothering with an old F1 forum I used to browse is because it lost a few senior members who were part of the furniture. The quality of the average ...

Re: Montoya on fireball crash at Daytona 500

Is it any worse than marshals on track when there is a safety car??? Well they don't have jet turbines strapped to their backs for a start. Jet turbine hit. Injuries none. Marshal hit, how many injured???? It's not Ideal but look at it it took a freak accident and a coincidence for anything to happ...

Re: Why do people complain Lewis started his career with McL

Hamilton made ALOT of mistakes in 2007/2008 and still does. Which means he hasnt learnt to drive yet still. He should have started off in team similar to Sauber (2001), Minardi (2001) or Jordan (1992). He would have learned there how to drive, instead of for example hitting the car infront on pit l...

Re: Montoya on fireball crash at Daytona 500

That was pretty terrible. But I can't be the only one who doesn't follow Nascar that closely but immediately thought about using those turbines in F1. Sure, it might be a glorified leaf blower but in F1, the pinnacle of track-cleaning equipment is currently a broomstick. If and when Race Control in...

Re: Truth, where is Eurytus?

If a very argumentative, annoyingly articulate and stubborn member pops up, likely in the religion thread, keep an eye on him. If he starts throwing around the term 'strawman', I'd advise reporting him. You could always add it to the swear filter. Have it change "Strawman" to "I have a little willy...

Re: If Senna didnt die, would he have won the WDC in 1994?

The Benetton was illegal all season. The title winning car, as raced in the final race(with repairs), was sold a few years ago. The sales bumph specifically stated traction control. I am sure there must be reports from the time stating this. Schui was miles ahead and would have won the championship...

Re: Will Lewis and Jenson fall out this year ??

I think they genuinely like eachother, unlike Vettel and Webber, so while it's only natural for their relationship to cool were they each other's mains rivals, I wouldn't expect any real fallout. Either way, I'm ready for Melbourne! They have to pretend to be pals for various McLaren medi...

well i think that when this mp4-27 starts running away with the championships, that some of the ugly step nose cars will suddenly appear with mclaren style noses  They can't. Re: The Official McLaren MP4-27 Thread!

It was sarcasm because I got fed up posting in the dozen or so threads that said McLaren missed a trick and the lack of step meant they would be running around with HRT. I wish to apologize to you, Johnston, I read it all wrong. Sometimes the internet can fail to convey the intent of the originator...

Re: If Senna didnt die, would he have won the WDC in 1994?

Ah, but you are overlooking the fact that I wrote Schumacher would not have had a Benetton to compete in, not that he would have been thrown out; after all, his own cheating would only come at Adelaide. Surely a renewed switch of teams would have seen to it that Schumacher could have continued raci...

Re: If Senna didnt die, would he have won the WDC in 1994?

If Schumacher still had those 2 DQ's and 2 missing races, then yes, Senna would have been a champ in 1994 imo. But had Senna lived then Scumacher wouldn't have been DNQ'd from Spa as there would have been no plank to have been too thin. That is correct, but it would have been impossible to disquali...

I saw the crash live. something clearly broke on the car. But both Montoya and the driver of the jet dryer were ok This. Could be gearbox or rear diff. Re: The Official McLaren MP4-27 Thread!

It will surely be beat by all. After all it's the only team without a step so they have made an obvious mistake :-P NOT. The MP4-27 is an evolution of last year's car. So barring something weird, the car will be much better sorted out compared to last year's car. If you stumble out of the blocks, a...

Re: The Official McLaren MP4-27 Thread!

Unless RBR or anyone else bring out something truely amazing at the last test that no one knows about. I fully expect Melbourne to be a closer race than last year and Lewis wasn't far off until his front splitter dropped. I definitly think the 27 will hit the ground running a bit faster than the 26 ...

I would say more down to letting a car with a known but undiagnosed mechanical fault back on track.
