From my very first race and the moment I saw him - Hungary 2003 (kind of lucky as that was his first win)

Re: What's the first race you watched?
Funny story actually. I'd always liked cars so my mum and dad bought me F1 games for the computer but I never watched a race until i was maybe 10. I loved the show Fame Academy (I know) and Jenson Button's then girlfriend Louise was on it. Baffled by the idea there was any other driver than Michael ...

I'll be in France over the weekend. Anyone know what channel shows F1 and if it's free or not?

As this video so beautifully demonstrates, it's quite normal for hand waving and other gestures, hell I've even been known to flash a finger while karting.JacksparrowNinja wrote:You could probably use some perspective there

Hmm, Mike Hawthorn because it was gentlemanly act from Stirling Moss which led to him losing the title against Hawthorn. But in all honesty I don't think a world champion can be undeserving because you still have to accumulate enough points no matter what the car is like or what situations come up

Re: least deserving world champion
Now, I am actually a big fan of Lewis Hamilton's, but I'm really going to catch some hell and say that he's not a deserving world champion in 2008. It was sheer luck that he somehow passed Timo Glock at the last corner of the last lap of the last race of the season in Brazil. Massa shouldn't even h...

Re: Any news on Robert Kubica?
I have to say something when reading these comments regarding the Kube's ability. To say he is on rosbergs level is plain wrong. To say Nick Heidfeld matched him is wrong. In 2007 the new Bridgestone tyres disadvantaged a number of drivers including Alonso, Kimi and Kubica. Alonso and Kimi were both...

I voted yes because now he's back into his stride I'd like to see what he could do. However I will be fine with him going because he's clogging up the young driver Market a little and there are some good drivers right on the brink of F1 but with nowhere to go

Re: Comparing rivals but in the same car
It's such as shame we didn't get Jacques Villeneuve alongside MS or Mika in 1998-2000. ..or Mika and MS ;) I don't get why people mention Alonso and Hamilton in "greatest drivers" in same team. It was Hamiltons FIRST year in F1, since then he won only 1 championship in a top team. I guess he's one ...

Re: Driving Styles
^^^ That probably had to do with how the McLaren tended to be light up front that season so it kind of drifted a bit going into corners and Hamilton had similar issues. Alonso's cars the previous 2 seasons were very well balanced and the 2007 McLaren not as much at times and on certain circuits it ...

Yes thats whats so frustrating, we can't ask the driver himself, we can only rely on observations which are only half the story a lot of the time. And yes it seems that Alonso changes his style a lot for cars, tyres, circuits etc. I've read that you're either an oversteer or understeer driver but i...

Re: If Vettel wins a 3rd World Championship in the upgraded
I think anybody who denies Vettel is a very talented driver is deluded, he's fast, has good skill in all areas and can turn in some incredible qualifying laps. However I think that Hamilton is faster and has more natural ability when it comes to wheel to wheel stuff, everywhere else they're probably...

A good way to note differences is to check out onboards, especially qualifying lap comparisons, because that's exactly where a driver is going to be at his most natural....using every method he's learned through karting/Formula Ford/F3 etc to coax speed out of the car http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...

Re: Why no penalties for Alonso?
The flag isn't really an issue. Surely the only issue might arise if Alonso pulled over and couldn't return the car to park ferme due to a lack of fuel. He has to leave the minimum requirement for testing, but also must return the car to park ferme under its own power to complete the distance. Alth...

Re: Grosjean & Malonado...the new generation
Grosjean is 26 and Maldonado is 27. Whereas, Hamilton is 27 and Vettel is 24. They hardly represent a 'new generation'. For me, it's Perez and Ricciardo, who are both 22, that are the new generation. I agree that Perez and Ricciardo are the new generation but I would say that you can't always look ...
