Re: Non-championship races in Europe, maybe also North Ameri
As soon as Alonso retires, Spanish attendances will crumble. They'd much rather watch motorcycling which is cheaper and more exciting (obviously more dangerous too). I think the UK could support two races but look at Germany, three world champions in recent years and they went from having two races ...

Re: Hamilton's Win Rate Compared to Schumacher
I am pretty sure Lewis will stay in F1 another 10 years. I just can't see him losing his speed. He seems to know every last trick. Even on a bad qualifying day he is still going to start high enough to attack for victory and even in slow cars like the 2009 McLaren, he still managed to win. Barring i...

I think Alonso is being secretly negotiated with at this point and all the talk about him not leaving McLaren is so sponsors don't start panicking.
Don't trust anything Flavio Briatore says. In fact assume what he says is the opposite.

Is Bottas really fast enough to go up against Hamilton?
No race wins. 2 Pole Positions. 1 Fastest lap. 9 Podiums. 78 starts. His podium return is quite good but slightly distorted by the fact Williams had the second fastest car in 2014 in my opinion thanks to Mercedes power and perhaps he could have had more. Although it's quite impressive he managed to ...

Shouldn't Mercedes have a driver shoot-out?
Let's invite all the champions from feeder series and available F1 drivers to Silverstone or somewhere and see who is fastest over 3-5 days to fill the vacant race seat? Mercedes can do some testing at the same time. Settle this the old fashioned way? Give some fresh blood a chance and compare their...

Re: Do you think Alonso would want to go to Mercedes?
I am quite sure Lewis and Fernando would get on better than they did at McLaren. Ron Dennis and the team orders ban and spygate was the problem, the actual racing between Lewis and Fernando was pretty clean compared to all the crashes LH and NR had. Alonso has had to swallow a lot of pride in recent...

No seriously, it ought to be Alonso or Button. The best qualified driver ought to be put against Lewis or 2017 might be a snoozefest.

I am really surprised and saddened by this but maybe he decided this a long time ago when the booing happened. It's hard to imagine McLaren being the same without Ron at the helm. Has it occurred to anyone that double points in Abu Dhabi would have been a lot better this year as Nico couldn't just sit back and take second places for the remaining races? Which race should be the last GP on the Calendar?
Abu Dhabi is probably the most predictable race on the calendar since the track is fairly flat, plenty of run off area, held at night with little chance of the cars overheating and with practically zero chance of rain. Surely Brazil or Japan should be the final race of the season so we have a decent...

Just a shame for him that he had that unsafe release at Singapore in 2008. That cost him a World Title. I think Jenson Button is happy he got at least one WDC. Most drivers only get 1 shot at being champ. But on the plus side he survived a spring to the helmet and the resulting crash along with many...

This is not a freak accident. Fernando Alonso and Michael Schumacher have had near misses with cars landing over their nosecone and near the cockpit. It's rare yes, but certainly this type of collision happens every year almost in one of the top categories and often in the junior categories.

I think Nigel and Lewis are both good with technology and very fast drivers with some time in very dominant cars. However I think Nigel deserves a little respect as he drove against tougher opponents in crazy fast cars.

Both Vettel and Hamilton benfitted from massive rule changes. I think Hamilton has it sewn up for the foreseeable future as there is not going to be as big a rule change as 2009 or 2014 for a while. 2017 is going to probably be very similar to 2016 with Mercedes still having an engine advantage I th...

It was completely Rosberg's fault. In a rear collision it's the overtaking driver's fault but as it was a SIDE collision caused by Rosberg closing the door. Lewis initiated his move first and then Rosberg reacts to close the door but ends up causing a side collision. You aren't allowed to do that. L...

I am not for it. If you want to race safely in a non-open cockpit there is touring cars and nascar, WRC and WEC etc.
Formula 1 will no longer be the pinnacle of motorsport because WEC is faster and getting bigger and other than shorter races and open wheels there is not much difference.

It has to be earned by qualifying and overtaking properly. Two race cycles would be no bad ...

MY GRID BOOST IDEA Basically, the real problem with qualifying as it is now is there are far too many penalties for people with slow cars. Firstly, your car is slow and you start behind somebody most likely with a faster engine. You're screwed if you have a slow car no matter how good the driver act...

Let's say the car is tangled with another car in a side on t-bone crash and a protruding piece of bodywork such as a wing, nose cone or suspension part is caught by the halo directing material and energy into the cockpit.
