Re: The fight for 4th!
I think Bottas and Massa are driving better than Raikkonen this year. Massa was taken out by Hulkenberg in Singapore but Bottas didn't start in Australia. Either of the Williams drivers deserve that 4th place. The battle for 4th and behind that the battle between the Red Bull drivers seem to be the ...

Re: Pirelli have won new contract for 2017-2019
I wish a TV journalist for one of the big broadcasters had the nerve to directly ask Bernie if Pirelli's sponsorship of F1 had anything to do with the new deal.... I suppose if I was receiving the money Pirelli are giving I could devote some time to pulling a straight face when I say Pirelli are doi...

Re: Webber's Legacy
The term "world class" is subjective but I think it is harsh to put Webber outside that category. He beat his multiple world champion peers several times in his career and competed for a championship. There are not many drivers in F1 that can say that. We're talking about less than 100 drivers out o...

Webber 2010 In Valencia he crashed into Kovalainen. In Korea he crashed in the wet. He would have gone on to win the WDC as he was leading it that year. With backing from the team as champion from 2010 he might have gone on to win in 2011. It might have ended Webber - 2 Vettel - 2 WDC... 2010 maybe...

Hmm....Renault have had their chance to improve and haven't impressed. The redeeming aspect about Honda is that they have not had as much time as Renault and as such it's reasonable to expect a chance of the gap being closed. Re: Anyone fed up with the amount of criticism Maldonado get
I agree that the criticism is often excessive. Ever since 2011 Maldonado has, in the balance of public opinion, been blamed even for 50/50 incidents or clashes that are not his fault. The problem is that he did gain a bad reputation for good reason. Deliberately hitting fellow drivers twice in quali...

I like the idea DeadKenny but I'm inclined to agree with HawaiiF1Fan on this. It's a terrible system actually. Just look at the drivers' actual records and you would have to shake your head. It doesn't take into account anything other than finishing position in the championship. Not wins or margin of victory or anything that might add context. Or, more importantly in my opin...

If I'm Mercedes or Ferrari, I put Verstappen in one of my junior teams-Force India or Haas. Up to 2 years to make sure he is ready for the move to a top team. Racing incident. Maldonado was entitled to take a tighter line, Button counted on Maldonado being out the way. I'd rather see these things declared racing incidents or we're going to see too much stewarding and discourage drivers from having a go.

I think the engine and gearbox price caps are a positive development in the short term so long as the teams are getting current or near to current spec, not one year old.

Glock sucked eggs anyway and on his best day was barely a tier 2 driver. He was VERY consistent in doing just enough to not make things worse for himself. Jeez he wasn't THAT bad. Well Renault are still posturing this week over terms which in the balance of probability suggests to me they aren't fully committed yet. McLaren are used to winning championships. I often hear this, but it's simply not true. It's been 17 year since they won a WCC and 24 years since the one before that. They had a good 8 year run that started 31 years ago, but that's mostly it. You simply can't say that most the people at McLaren are...

2004 "how good was the BAR?" makes for an interesting discussion but what does it say about Honda in the present day? Well... 2004 was not very competitive, they were a very distant second that year. It was simply a case of McLaren dropping the ball massively and Williams was as good as dead due to the Walrus. And it was a BAR, not Honda. So really, you don't have much of a point. Calling a decidedly inferior car "competi...
