Re: What If?
Im my opinion, no he would not have won a championship. If his performances for BAR in 2003 and 2004 weren't going to convince a big team to sign him up then a few more years in the midfield for Williams weren't going to either. When the big teams look to sign a new driver they tend to go for an es...

Re: Ferrari (352 laps) McLaren (173) who is struggling?
Right now the battle at the front could be like 2007, the two McLaren drivers evenly matched, with Vettel in the Red Bull taking the place of Raikkonen's Ferrari.
Just without the Spygate or any other scandal I hope.

Re: Pundits agree Ferrari struggling in 2012
It's hard to take these pundits seriously when they tip Lotus and Force India to do well. This is testing, not qualifying or racing. Gary Anderson was a car designer for over 10 years, including the rather good Jordan 199, so I wouldn't dismiss his opinion out of hand, I suspect he's been to his fa...

Being in East Asia, whatever I can find on the internet, I think the commentary will be very strong on both channels. Ben Edwards is superb, and DC did a good job alongside Brundle last year.

Re: Funny Modifications/Additions to F1 cars & rules!
Stinger!-Each driver can deploy one stinger during the race, measuring 2x2x2x2ft, in an attempt to puncture their rivals tyres. Would make the fight for pole very desperate! 2ft wide 2ft long 2ft high? 2ft in time? :?: Woops, I mean each side is 2ft long! I thought of writing 2ft squared, but that ...

44. Tyres can be changed in a red flag suspended race situation. That royally screwed up the finish to Monaco.

Re: Greatest Ever F1 Grid
I think I may look back on 2012 as a better grid than 1978, depends on how the current midfield drivers turn out. I think di Resta, Hulkenberg, Kobayashi, Perez, Grosjean, and maybe Nico Rosberg are not near their peak. Not forgetting Webber if he can recover his best form, same for Massa-though I t...

Greatest Ever F1 Grid
With 15 days left until FP1 in Albert Park, there is still an awful lot of time to wait. So, think very hard and share your thoughts on what season, in your opinion, had the greatest spread of talent on the grid. This isn't about the greatest season of racing, just about the drivers that lined up fo...

Re: Bernie - Australia could be axed.
Compromise should be that Bernie underwrites the cost for lighting the track if that is the major sticking point, after all he gains directly from increased TV audiences that the night race could bring. Bernie actually underwrote the race itself at Watkins Glen one year, such was the will to promote...

Re: Ferrari give us some Italian drivers!
Well, that's fanaticism for you. I saw the same thing when Schumacher crashed at Silverstone with fans cheering when he crashed in 2000, though once they realised he had broken his leg, it was quiet except for the sounds of the cars going past slowly. I suspect they hesitated to cheer next time they...

Re: Ferrari give us some Italian drivers!
I actually think that it is precisely due to lack of talent. Ferrari aren't averse to taking on Italian drivers, Alboreto was there for several seasons in the 1980s, they gave Capelli a chance in the 1990s but he turned out to be a Frentzen, thriving in lesser machinery, for whatever reason I don't ...

Re: If Senna didnt die, would he have won the WDC in 1994?
If Seen had not of died, I think he would of been Champion in 94, 95 & also 96, then probably would of retired, The Williams F1 car of 95 was probably better than the 94 williams but Damon Hill and Coulthard just weren't good enough back then for me. (I still think Williams made a massive error in ...

Re: Which midfield team will be the strongest in 2012?
Force India have continued to move up the grid since the 2008 season, and on that basis I expect them to be the best midfield team in 2012 of those you have chosen. I would have included Lotus there as well though, they only finished 5th in 2011. If Lotus was counted, I would expect them to be the s...

Re: Montoya on fireball crash at Daytona 500
That was pretty terrible. But I can't be the only one who doesn't follow Nascar that closely but immediately thought about using those turbines in F1. Sure, it might be a glorified leaf blower but in F1, the pinnacle of track-cleaning equipment is currently a broomstick. If and when Race Control in...

I think they genuinely like eachother, unlike Vettel and Webber, so while it's only natural for their relationship to cool were they each other's mains rivals, I wouldn't expect any real fallout. Either way, I'm ready for Melbourne! They have to pretend to be pals for various McLaren medi...

Re: Why do people complain Lewis started his career with McL
Hamilton definitely deserved that seat at McLaren and drove superbly-I still think 2007 was his best season-but I'm sure I was not alone in having mates suddenly take an interest in F1. That was fine, what was annoying was when they talked about Hamilton in Messianic terms, without having watched th...

Re: If Senna didnt die, would he have won the WDC in 1994?
It's not certain what would have happened had Senna not died; but supposing he would have just left his car, I'm convinced Benetton's cheating would not have been swept under the carpet as has happened with Senna dead. With Senna 100% fit for the rest of 1994, he and Hill would have been 1-2 in the...

What's all the fuss about? We're sponsored by Carlsberg, and they told us that they made drivers who took pole, led from lights to flag for the win and most of all, did not crash!

Mock The F1: Scenes We'd Like To See #1
In the spirit of a UK satirical panel show called Mock The Week, here is F1's first Scenes We'd Like To See. The idea is that for the following situation, you submit humorous answers. One of the bigger F1 stories of the week is Marussia failing it's crash test. So, along those lines: #1: Bad Things ...
