Re: Massa comments on Fernando, Kimi, Vettel

How does Alonso make his team mates before worse? Vulcan mind control? How about the idea that Alonso makes them look like they perform worse because he smashes them so badly? You don't like that theory much I guess? You asked before for elements to support my points, and I gave you sensible things...

Re: Massa comments on Fernando, Kimi, Vettel

Feel free to revisit my comments in 1 year or 2. Alonso will either trash Button or will be beaten and will leave the team. I have seen many F1 seasons to conclude that he has the "wrong"(for the team not for himself) tools to transform a team. It's like I(Alonso) ask my boss to buy a particular ob...

Re: Massa comments on Fernando, Kimi, Vettel

If a team wants to thrive, he is simply the last guy among the World champions to hire. . Which is why he is the highest paid driver in the sport and Mclaren just rehired him after the drama of 2007. Spot on you are. Feel free to revisit my comments in 1 year or 2. Alonso will either trash Button o...

Re: Massa comments on Fernando, Kimi, Vettel

Well Massa said nothing new and in the "Alonso's luck thread" I said something similar not long ago. Alonso is like Apple in the sense that their marketing and the way they work the media and the opposition is just Genius. If a team wants to thrive, he is simply the last guy among the World champion...

We know from last year than Alonso>Kimi and Ricciardo>Vettel.

Yeah and if you add 2 bottles of 10°C water, you will obtain 1 big bottle of 20°C.
I am afraid it doesnt work like that.

Re: Team changes: Luck v Intuition [Formerly Fernando's Luck

Why do people think that Alonso joining Ferrari was a huge failure. Because it was. He went to Ferrari to win titles with Ferrari. He wanted to finish his career with Ferrari. 5 seasons later and he has won zero titles and saw no other option than to jump ship in order to still try and obtain that ...

Re: Team changes: Luck v Intuition [Formerly Fernando's Luck

Kimi was brought in as Alonsos equal. He is just too poor to actually be Alonsos equal. I think Alonso worshiping simply did'nt help when Kimi was already in a difficult and precarious position. This is why I think Vettel or Hamilton are more suited to be paired up with another World Champion as of...

Re: Team changes: Luck v Intuition [Formerly Fernando's Luck

McLaren was using the Mercedes engine in 2012 and they won more than Mercedes F1 that year. Since Hamilton has left the team, they have won a fat zero race. These are facts. That in itself tells absolutely nothing about wether Hamilton is the cause to it. This is the fact too. opinions are certainl...

Re: Team changes: Luck v Intuition [Formerly Fernando's Luck

I'd certainly agree that it would be off for them to make a major signing on one hand while threatening the organisers with pulling out with the other. It would make sense to resolve the latter issue first before making public pronouncements for the future, wouldn't you say? Generally speaking thou...

Re: Team changes: Luck v Intuition [Formerly Fernando's Luck

Mercedes would be a totally different team without him on the board too. Lewis was given to that great car with that great PU first, then he pushed its brakes and whatever else to the limits in order to beat his teammate that was leading the championship for the most of the time. I was unaware that...

Re: Team changes: Luck v Intuition [Formerly Fernando's Luck

Let's take the Mercedes F1 team website as an example.. It was simply plain and could not handle more than 200 users a the same time without blowing up. The Mercedes W04(2013's car) launch was a fiasco as they were not expecting the enormous traffic on their website. Lewis is an extreme(in a good wa...

Re: Fernando's Luck

I disagree the decision to go to Ferrari in 2010 was the right one at that time Rather safe decision. The best moves are often the riskiest one. I liked how people criticised Hamilton for going to Mercedes. This is why I think Hamilton is better at managing his career. Hamilton went to team that wo...

Re: The Perception of Hamilton

Are we talking about the same Rosberg who was about to win his first GP in 2008(Singapore) with Williams if it was not for the disgraceful Renault tactics?

Who knows how his career would have changed.
The way this guy is underrated is unreal.

Re: The Perception of Hamilton

As regards him respecting his team mates, I would strongly disagree with you there. I think the evidence shows the opposite. When he's beating them, he's often magnanimous, but it's relatively easy to do that when you're ahead. But whenever anyone beats him, the hissy fits come out. We saw it with ...

Re: The Perception of Hamilton

Sadly, perhaps Lewis' biggest problem in this forum is not Lewis himself, it is the perception that the more fanatic side of his fan base refuses to accept ANY criticism of Lewis without crying foul. That same bunch seemingly will not allow for anything other than total acceptance of Hamilton great...

Re: The Perception of Hamilton

pokerman, Vettel certainly caught plenty of criticism before 2014 , how many times were there threads about how he can only win in great cars? How many times did we hear about how weak his teammates have been? Questions about his place in the top drivers of all time. Do his 4 WDCs make him the grea...

After JAPAN 2007, with only 2 races left (CHINA and BRAZIL) the championship table looked like this: HAM 107 ALO 95 RAI 90 MAS 77 Massa had 80 points after Japan actually, despite having to start 3 races from the back of the grid due no fault of his own (Australia, Silverstone & Hungary) and having...

Re: The Perception of Hamilton

I didn't know he is considered as a car breaker in the paddock - he is deffinately considered as the best racer out there and that is exactly why he won over rosberg , purely because he is hugely talented when it comes to passing people , and he did win the 2014 title in a very classy way - in the ...

Re: Why did Alonso join McLaren?

I don't think he NEEDS #1 status, it's just he'd pull more points if his team mate wasn't taking some away. That's the same with every driver. If Schumacher had had a driver who was fast enough as his team-mate and was allowed to take points away he wouldn't have won as many championships. Consider...

Re: Best/Most Timely Team Switches of All Time

I would have to say it's gotta be Senna to McLaren 1988 as the out and out best based on team improvement and the swiftness of that team improvement. Prost in 1993 to Williams would be a good one, too, but Williams was dominant the year before. Out of my personal watching experience, and the super-...

Re: Why did Alonso join McLaren?

It all has to do with Hamilton winning with Mercedes... he had no problems staying at Ferrari while Vettel(whom he wrongly doesn't rate highly) was winning left and right, now he realises Hamilton is going to leave him behind in terms of titles and wins. He had the opportunity to leave Ferrari in 20...
