Re: Rank the unconfirmed 2016 drivers

The Grosjean vs Gutierrez stat is curious actually didn't look at it that way. It seems Grosjean is more motivated when the car is good enough for points while Gutierrez seems to have a problem or cocks up himself in such situations. In his first season with Sauber Hulk scored good points on several...

Rank the unconfirmed 2016 drivers

With Bottas and Stroll confirmed for Williams that leaves 2 spots available at Haas, Manor and Sauber and 1 at Force India and Renault. Current drivers that are not confirmed, and I'll rank them right away 1 Grosjean (has a contract though for next season at Haas) 2 Wehrlein 3 Ericsson 4 Magnussen 5...

Re: Silly Season 2017

That Nasr is on several shortlists is quite sad for the state of F1. It would be sad having no Brazilian driver in F1 but we had F1 without Italian driver for a few years too. Ericsson is only slightly better and Gutierrez is another guy not capable to score decent points. Oh look those 3 didn't sc...

Re: Is Vettel oncourse to quit F1 in the near future?

You know he might be happy his teammate is still Kimi next season and he really must hope Ferrari has a race winner again. He is impatient. I thought Alonso was very patient but eventually fell out with the team management. In 2015 Seb seemed to be in the right car at the right moment and he looked ...

https://www.jamesallenonf1.com/2016/11/ross-brawn-to-become-sporting-boss-of-f1-not-replacing-bernie-ecclestone/ Interesting, seems that Brawn won't replace Ecclestone after all, rather he will work alongside him? Wash out his mouth with soap that's what they used to do with kids using foul language. He has been punished enough I guess by being dropped 2 places, or 1 place as he did cross the line in 4th.

Why not just keep it simple and use the black flag?

Despite Seb celebrating with the Mercedes drivers yesterday as Max got a 5s penalty, Seb has now received a 10s penalty dropping to 5th. Dan is promoted to 3d and Max to 4th place. http://www.planetf1.com/news/angry-vettel-drops-to-fifth-after-10-second-penalty/ So no double standards after all? How...

On the other hand 9 wins was enough to win the title when seasons weren't that long as now. Nico could still win 10 in the end and not become WDC.

His father who owns a large stake of Williams now, from what I understand, isn't thrilled to have Bottas as Lance's teammate. So we may see the end of Bottas at Williams. That would be absolutely rubbish imo. Bottas deserves to be in that seat as the leading driver. Just because he might embarrass ...

I really don't like that he won't go through GP2 to sharpen his skills further. This looks like a trend that could pick up pace with the way the FIA has structured the driver points system. Was Capelli the last 100% Italian driver for Ferrari? Fissichella was in 09. The last Italian to complete a full season with Ferrari was Alboreto. Which is rather sad. I never understood why they gave Capelli the seat in 1992 while there was more promising Italian drivers like Modena and Martini. E...

An Italian driver in F1 for 2017?

I really hope so. The very first WDC in 1950 was Italian Nino Farina for an Italian team (Alfa Romeo). The first 2 WDC's for Ferrari (1952-1953) were won by Italian Alberto Ascari. No more WDC's for Italian drivers after that but still plenty of Italian drivers often being the nation with most repre...

Things from the past you either liked or disliked. You have given up hope they would ever return or hope they won't ever. * Pre-qualifying: well since we have a hard time getting a grid of 26, I don't think we will ever see one of 30+ again * Pre KO qualifying format: the majority is happy about the...

I think Williams but they are hampered by their driver line-up not being as strong as the ones from McLaren and Force India. While Massa being unlucky a few times he is not really driving a great final season. Loss of performance, loss of motivation or maybe a combination of the 2.
