Re: Nico Rosberg retires from F1, with immediate affect

Yes. Hamilton had some mechanicals. He almost acted like it "wasn't fair" that he had blown engines for "some odd reason" and that is what determined the outcome. I have a little bit of a hard time with this entitlement thinking. Didn't Nico have several mechincals last year? And honestly, how hard...

Re: The Official Lewis Hamilton thread

This sounds odd, but I think subconsciously Lewis lacks self-confidence - which is why he's always trying to justify why he lost. I'm not only thinking about this WDC title, but also tweeting car telemetry a few seasons ago to justify Button beating him (in quali IIRC). I see what you mean. It des ...

Re: Nico Rosberg retires from F1, with immediate affect

Also, his call to other drivers, "If you stand the heat, don’t come" makes him look very self-contained, as well as the constant stress that he only needs "equal rights" . He had them in the last year and got beaten. End of story. Whilst the reason why Hamilton got beaten IMO, has more to do with h...

I doubt you will see Vettel at Mercedes while Hamilton is still there. I think that depends on whether Vettel truly waited for Alonso to leave Ferrari before joining, or if he was always going to leave Red Bull and head to Marenello regardless. If he was willing to put himself in the same car as Al...

If Lewis (or anyone else) was the best driver this season - then it doesn't say a lot for those convinced that there is more talent on the grid now than a decade or so previously....

Let's be honest - there was no standout driver as they all made too many mistakes.

One has to say that Rosberg has shown the greater lack of team dedication by now leaving Mercedes without a world class driver for the new year despite having a signed contract for his services next year. Potentially this is far more damaging to Mercedes than whether Hamilton put at risk a virtuall...

Yes. While many people are ruling him out, I think Perez would be a good choice. He's proven he's fast, not far from Button a few years ago, and lately improving, now surpassing Hulkenberg (who was hyped big time). He's not a top team (which would've been more complicated), meaning switching to Merc it'...

Why issue team orders at a race where it's the final show down, both drivers can win it and there is no chance another team will get the title. 1. Mercedes were both right and consistent in making the call. The 1-2 was in jeopardy, so they had two choices. First one being trying to secure the 1-2. Second one being letting them go at it.
