Re: 3 car teams [MERGED]
How about 3 car teams, but only 2 can score points, the team gets to choose. So if a team gets a 1, 2, 3 this still counts as a 1, 2, 3 but they just have to choose one person not to get the points they are not excluded (as like a penalty) just no points. If the team chooses 3rd than 4th place drive...

Most likely Ricciardo fans booing. Pretty low. Going to provide any evidence to support that claim or did you, y'know, just make it up? I'm not claiming it to be fact. It's just the most likely. Who else would boo Vettel, given the circumstances? Alonso fans maybe, I guess. Edit: the circumstances ...

Ricciardo's 2nd in Australia 2014.
When pride comes to mind, I can only think of pride in something that is mine, that being my country and countrymen. To see him grinning on that podium I am sure all of Australia was proud of that effort.
I was rather gutted the following days though.

So why on earth is Peter77 claiming that Ricciardo was losing 1.7 seconds a lap? When it's clear that it wasn't anywhere near that amount. Because he does not like sebby very much  There is merit in what he's saying if you tone it way way down. Ricciardo some laps was losing quite a bit of tim...

Furbatto recalled being amazed by the know-how of a braces-wearing, 22-year-old Ricciardo when he stepped into an F1 car in 2012. “I was struck by the feedback he was able to give to the team,” Furbatto told Italy’s Autosprint. “It was incredible how he recalled the behaviour of the machine even ho...

What if a marshal had fallen over by accident hurt themselves and couldn't get back up. I agree, with no safety car, but not with running across the track, also, the time taken was too long, if there was no one able to get it off within one lap from the pit wall side a safety car should of been cal...

They should have a group of people, that don't watch the race.
When a penalty is for review, they show this group of people. BUT the footage is overlaid where the cars are replaced with, the same, generic sprites. For all intensive purposes they cant tell who is who.
Then they suggest penalty.

Re: Dragon-Tamer Vettel Laments F1 Changes
The cars are 'slower' and 'quieter' because of the 100kg of fuel restriction, the new engines are more powerful than the old V8 one form of proof is that the cars now are as fast down the straights as last years, with about 150hp less. It's a fine line for the FIA (or whoever does the regulations), ...

I noticed when watching last weekend's Indycar race that their engines - while probably not much louder, if at all - sound much more urgent, much more 'on it' even though their rev limit is only 12k compared to F1's 15k, but seeing the rev counter graphics this weekend, we see that the drivers are ...

I just had a thought, since these measurement devices are susceptible to vibration and electronic interference, moving some 'special' wires nearby could see it produce some 'planned' controlled readings. Read: Zap it so it reads lower than it actually is.

I'm not blaming the engine, it's capable of making noise, it's the low RPM limit of 15k, and they don't even hit that due to fuel restrictions. 11k vs 17-18k that's 1/3 less. But I love to imagine the power if they could spool a turbo at 18k... my gosh. :o EDIT: Here's an 'unrestricted' V6 turbo... ...
