Re: 2014 Jerez Winter Testing thread..

Merc and McLaren are unstoppable! 91 laps from Merc already :o

Good to see that Caterham (Renault) are running better too (33 laps). Makes the Red Bull issue look more and more like it's mainly down to their own cockup.

Re: 2014 Jerez Winter Testing thread..

@tgruener 42s #F1 RB added a quick fix cooling outlet to prevent overheating. Yuck, that's so rough I'd be hesitant to put it on my tractor. It's pretty bad when you have to start hacking holes in the bodywork and welding vents that crappy. Still, if any team can get themselves out of this, I'd wag...

It'll be very different. What a lot of people don't realise is that there's no 'boost' button like we had with KERS. So last year it wasn't a massive issue if you lost kers - you just lost the ability to give yourself a boost when you needed it. This year its all automated, and will deploy without ...

Re: 2014 Jerez Winter Testing thread..

Which bit of the RB10 is overheating? I can't quite make it out from that pic. Looks like right at the bottom of the blue livery, before you get onto the flat black 'floor' area. To the left of a black square on the livery you can see where it's melted/pealed the paintwork. Merc had a similar issue...

Re: RedBull Racing RB10 Thread

Image

Someone posted that photo in the testing thread - it's got a pretty big overheating problem for it to be able to peal the paint work off like that. The black cut out on the right looks like they've tried to bodge some cooling into it and failed.

@tgruener 2m Either a bad paint job or some serious overheating under the RB cover. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BfTF5BMCAAAgMCa.jpg What are we looking at? Having seen all but the Lotus out on track, for me it was: - Mercedes - McLaren With an honourable mention to Marussia for making the car look somewhat like a 'norma' F1 car and loosing the GP2 look. Opinion on each car/livery: Least favourite has to be the Toro Rosso, mainly because the livery is j...

Oh it's perfectly legal, until Red Bull, Ferrari and Lotus all file a complaint. Then it'll suddenly be illegal. That's how things usually seem to work with the FIA. Their word means squat.

Red Bull currently looking like the most unstable team on the grid, completing just 3 laps, and Mercedes looking the strongest, with the car completing 62 laps.

The biggest issue I have with it is that it's once again CHANGE for the sake of change. The newer points system was never designed to be turnipped around with like this, and it does nothing at all other than create arguments. If you're going to adjust something like that, you need to re-review the e...
