Re: Kvyat, Sainz and Palmer to swap seats from Austin onward

Is Sainz going to be the 2nd driver ever from the Red Bull driver program that will drive for another team?
(Behind Vettel obviously)
And surely Ricciardo and Max will go onto other teams too.

If Hartley does a decent job then it may be Gasly/Hartley for the rest of the year!

Re: Kvyat, Sainz and Palmer to swap seats from Austin onward

Sainz has been rather clumsy on a couple of occasions this year. I think it's been more than a couple now. He had those 2 incidents in Bahrain and Canada, both of which he was responsible for 2 cars retiring as well as collecting 2 penalty points and a 3 place grid penalty for the next race on both...

Re: Kvyat, Sainz and Palmer to swap seats from Austin onward

7 years without a podium DOES mean something. This. Exactly right. How anyone can be fan of Hulkenberg is absolutely mystifying to me. Hulk is a lead driver in a works team. He is very well regarded. Perez’s advantage from the Pirelli tyres has now gone and can barely hold off a rookie. I bet if Hu...

Re: In my opinion Max very well may be the best driver

I'd like to see Max in a competitive car - ie. competitive over the whole season with Hamilton. Same goes for Ricciardo, Alonso and Vettel. Other drivers such as Hulkenberg or Sainz might also be competitive in a competitive car. The sooner any of those things happen, the better for F1. This year w...

Max is very good, but needs polishing. As he is not in the title fight, both Vettel and Ham will not fight him as hard. Ham did the smart thing and let him go last race rather than do what Vettel did in Singapore. And as for those doubting Ricciardo, look at the points. He is in 4th in the WDC. He i...

Re: 2018- The Year of the Penalty

Even in the V8 days recently they had 8 engines a year. And they weren’t allowed to develop them like now. 3 is a joke. How much more money is spent testing the engines in the factory to make them 100% reliable, vs maybe allowing 6 or 8 engines where the manufacturers can tinker on track during a se...

How can you outperform the car when your teammate has looked faster all year? Truly every time Ricciardo has had a good result this year, my first thought is how much better Max would have done if something didn't happen to him. At Singapore there is little doubt Max would have pushed Lewis more, e...

Dan is the man. I think he is top notch, up with Alonso and Hamilton. He has never been in a top car, yet has a reputation as a great over taker. He rarely makes mistakes. Yes he has made a few dodgy moves from too far back in the past, however some stuck. Other drivers would have probably just sat ...

He probably got better traction by doing so, and set up his win by getting past Ricciardo.

I really don't know who'll end up with the seat. Saying that, for me Kubica is the favourite simply because they've given him the in-season test. I think with Robert, perhaps there was a little sentimentality with the first test he did, but I'm sure all the way along there has been a curiosity in h...

I think if they retain Kvyat, it is more to do with having drivers that they can promote to Red Bull. Max wants a move. Dan has a contract for 2018 only. Sainz wants to move. If these 3 move on, then Red Bull have no one to promote from with in for 2019. Retaining someone with Kyvats experience make...

My 2 cents. This is Dan’s 4th year at Red Bull. Each year they talk up their title chances. And again in 2017 the car is not good enough. My guess is it'd be roughly 0.7 secs behind Merc/Ferrari. Probably 0.2~0.3 because of the engine and the rest chassis. I'd be shocked if the chassis is close to the lead two teams. Apparently with the wider car and bigger tyres, the power difference is amplified compared to last year. So according ...

As far as ultimate pace is concerned, Redbull is done for the season. You cannot get on top of 1.5+ second time difference to teams like Ferrari and Mercedes in a given year. That is impossible task.
