Re: Female Racing Drivers

Another all-female F4 Championship to launch this year . USA this time, by "Exclusive Racing", the people behind Formula Pro USA. Titled Formula Pro WRS, the plan is for a 6 weekend series of double-headers. It will use 2.0L, non-turbo 160HP Ligier F4 car. Aged 14+ but , and here's comes the eyebrow...

Re: Best team ever

I just tried it on % of max constructor points available and if my sums are right, McLaren take it for '1988 again with

1988 McLaren (199/240) = 83%
2023 RBR (860/1058) = 81%

Re: Best team ever

What is the number after the year? I guess the way to level this off across all seasons is to do it as constructors points as a % of total possible points. But you'd have to cover off different points systems, fastest laps, half-points etc. Or just do it with a single scoring system applied to resul...

Re: Female Racing Drivers

Aurelia Nobels and...Maya Weug to do F1 Academy next year. Hmmm... Nobels OK, 16 but already has 40 or so F4 races under her belt. Weug though, 19 and with 70 odd F4/FREC races. Just seems a bit lazy. Weug will be an interesting benchmark for younger fresh -out of kart drivers though. If there any...

Well I get different numbers again for qualy! (4.7 to 5.8) but agree with TP ahead. Whatever the numbers it really does convince me that the reverse grid on qualy is a stupid approach and should be binned. Either don't do them, or do them on Championship standings (i.e qualy proper for feature, rev...

Short version: The FIA have noted an incident between SWO and and TWO. Team Radio TWO: "I didn't do anything wrong! What did I do?" Re: F2/F3 2023

There is a problem with F2 that it introduces quite a lot of luck into the equation, of course reverse grids would be a starting point, Vesti qualifying worse than Pourchaire would help him more in the sprint races for instance. Then in the Feature race an ill timed SC then the long time leader fro...

I guess Villagomez has the money to buy a Van Amersfoort seat for next season. Dürksen probably also comes with more money than talent. At least, he looks better than Mason. I think that the majority of the listed drivers could become competent F1 drivers - but there are no seats available. That said I am surprised about Red Bull's choice: Dennis and Hadjar over Iwasa and Maloney, for instance (who both outperformed Hadjar in F2 this season)? Strange choice. I think Ma...

They should impose a rule on those who get a 5 second penalty to serve it in 3 or 5 laps instead of letting it be in their backpack while they lap faster to nullify it. Make a penalty effective like this instead of just dishing it out where the effect gets nullified by the driver staying out longer...

F1 Academy is entry level, more so than normal F4 so it isn't that interesting. At least she is more age appropriate than most.
