Re: Rightio. Who's it gunna be??
There are some reports doing the rounds where Mercedes wish to acquire Vettel for 2018, which means Bottas would be given a 1 year contract. http://www.express.co.uk/sport/f1-autosport/752845/Mercedes-shock-swoop-Ferrari-Sebastian-Vettel-join-Lewis-Hamilton Would Bottas leave a secure place like Wil...

Re: Will drivers be affected if F1 cars revert to manual tra
Manual gears in the pinnacle of motorsport! Doesn't add up.... Well if things like CVT are banned, it is a matter of degrees I would love to see Manual gears back in F1. There is some additional feel to it which is not in automatic gears. But F1 cars are semi-automatic aren't they which is a blend ...

Time we crowdfunded a fan-owned F1 team! Wasn't this done with another team a few years back? Or maybe a driver, I can't remember. I think Ron should step up and throw his hat back into the F1 ring with a new project. I don't want to think he's done with F1 yet. Brabham http://www.executivestyle.co...

There are reports that Bottas made a secret visit around Christmas to the Mercedes headquarters for seat fitting, which all suggests he's moving there & Massa is returning back:

The more I think about this, the more I wish for the choice to be Wehrlein. I think his sense of perfectionism could bring important gains to Mercedes over time, and I'd rather they take a punt on his unknown credentials than on what many of us presume to be a largely known entity in Bottas. From w...

My impression was that Ocon was much closer in race pace , particularly towards the end of the season. Ocon also thumped Werhlein in Brazil. So how do we know if that's unimpressive or not? Re: Is Bottas really fast enough to go up against Hamilton?
Bottas will be good but he may not be able to challenge for wins. Incase Hamilton retires (dare I say due to engine blowup), Bottas may take the win then.
Bottas will surely be having a very anxious Christmas & New Year as he must be itching to get in the Mercedes car.

Re: When will McLaren get back on the podium?
one thing is for sure, if McLaren are still slow , where will Fernando want to be in 2018 , merc or retirement from f1 I think that depends more on how much you can push on the new tyres and how fun the new cars are to drive. Hopefully McLaren improve well for Alonso sake. Seeing him struggle here ...

Re: When will McLaren get back on the podium?
2016 I think. Good result yesterday, but I think that race was a bit of a crazy one with a lot going on. And a number of cars that would likely have been faster dropped out. Then again, a slightly crazier race, or a downpour at the right time for Alonso or Button and I they look like they'd have at...

So now we have Wolff saying he didn't sign Wehlein because he didn't want a repeat of 2007: Wolff told Kolner Express, “Lewis and Pascal would be an explosive mixture. What I want to avoid is the Alonso-Hamilton scenario [of 2007]. I will not go there.” http://www.grandprix247.com/2016/12/22/wolff-...
